I am on my second Z since last Spring. The first one had a weak axle but Suzuki fixed it by the time I got the second one. I have read about a few frame issues but I havent had any yet. I see you are in Indiana. Where do you ride?

for $50 buck you can get it quasetted and the problems will be gone

Basically, its these metal pieces that you weld onto the frame in certain areas to strengthen the frame, works very well to!

when buying a z check how straight the axle is, if there are caliper dents in the exhaust (this will show if they jumped a lot or not), and check the front upper shock mounts, also check the subframe to see if its bent at all by looking at it from the back

I dont know if just any shop can guesset your frame

they have weak axles and swingarms. also the chain is time consuming to adjust.

Weak swing arms? Where are you gettin this info? I've heard nothing about swingarms bein weak. Axles, yes, stock axles on most rigs suck. But the swing arm, this is the first I've heard of this. The Z is a great machine, gusset the frame, get an aftermarket axle and you're good to go. After that, it's all about shocks and motor.

You dont even need to buy an axle anymore. Newer Z's have an updated GOLD axle. No more bending.

Well Stock 400ex's and LTZ/KFX400's all have week swingarms IMO. Im pretty sure the axle problem was corrected in 2003 but im not to sure on that. You should be alright with everything though
