this spring me and some buddys are making a trip to oklahoma to ride in the dunes.. i think they are called little sieara.. i was wondering if anyone could tell me about it and if anyone has some pics post em!
thanks

the little sahara is about 1500 acres and has two dunes that are about 90 ft. it is the only dunes ive been to but hopefully that will change this summer. most of the dunes are wide trials and there is a flat open drag strip. there are also two camp ground with shower houses. hope this helps.

Go have a blast! If you can get there in the middle of the week so you can get used to it first beacuse they can get crowded.

It is a great place to ride! Well worth the trip. It takes about a day and a half of casual driving to get there from MN.

I believe the elevation is nearly the same as MN, so you shouldn't have to rejet. (I didn't)

When we went, I took off from the group, and immediately got lost for about 15 minutes. Couldn't find anybody. It was fun, and the jumps are awesome.

Some friends of mine went on a trip there, and brought a tent. They had massive storms, and the campground flooded. There were ponds where the tent should have been. They ended up sleeping in the truck for two nights, then left early.

During our trip, Oklahoma City had some tornadoes, and a lot of damage. But, we got nary a drop of rain at the dunes, just a little windy.

BEWARE.......I was in the "Group" last time Colby and Dusty went and nearly made it back to Nebraska in a body bag. This is the reason I am out of the sport now and had to sell my quad. Here is a pic of me after my accident. I gassed it a little to much over a dune and fell nearly 65 feet.

holy s#it, ouch

You guys could go to silver lake. Its alot closer to MN. Once you get across WI to Lake Michigan you take the ferry across. Were planning to go to silver lake this spring or summer.

Posted by: K_Fulk

Silver lake may be closer. But little sahara is way better Way more land not as many rules and you don't need a spark arrestor.

Posted by: skinrider440

all you have to have at LS in Oklahoma is a flag and 7 dollars a day to ride

Posted by: K_Fulk

You don't even need the $7 bucks if you go in the park early enough:devil

Posted by: skinrider440

i usually don't get there until 8 am and they are usually there. cuz i only live 1 hour away i just drive up there and come back unless there is something going down that night. i dated a girl that worked at the gate so i used to get in for free.

Posted by: K_Fulk

Usually during the week there is only one person between the 2 gates. Well there was last april anyways.

When I went to Silver Lake, it cost $36 per machine to license for out of state (My Minnesota registration did not count). Plus, we could not ride from the campground to the dunes, we had to haul the quads down there and unload them.

Posted by: spud400ex

my last time at little sahara i got there at 1:00 a.m. and one of the guys we met there told me and my friend (who was there for his first time) to unload the quads becuase we are going on a night run to the big dunes, luckily we were at the north canpgruond and it was not tha far of a ride. my friends lakota could hardly make it up any of the dunes. it really sucked when i got stuck just short of the top of the dune and when going back down the 400 went sideways and i had both feet on the uphill peg and saved it.

Posted by: skinrider440

im not a fan for riding dunes at night

Posted by: zephead400ex

night riding is the shiznit...as long as you are careful...not flying off Buttercup in 3rd gear pinned...then it is not fun! - well it might be...
