What is the average width of a race quad? My old Raptor was 46.? and it fit down the trails fine. The new KFX 700 is 47.1 in. WIDE!!! That is wide. What is your width for woods. A DS 650 can not ride on the trails I ride on its to wide.

thats only an inch bigger at the most bw the raptor and kfx

I'm at stock width on my 400 and i do fine, all depends on how tight the trails are, i've been in some my 300 could barely fit through

if you want to do gncc or any other woods racing dont go any wider than plus 1.

Posted by: goochy

plus one of what??????

Posted by: Pappy

gncc tracks differ but i wouldnt wanna run wider then 47. we are having +3/4 arms built for one of our z400's for the series in new york. +1 for almost all other gncc races.

Im 80% trail rider... and 20% Mxer.... im going to get +2+1 a arms anyways... im just going to buy an offset rim that brings it in an inch so i really have +1+1, but then when i go to MX and get my grooves on, im gunna get an offset that brings it out another inch... probobly just use the stock rims... more than an inch tho :devil

My 250R had +1 housers and 4+1 offset wheels. It measured out at 44", I wouldn't want to be any wider than that!

thats because you are trying to run the quad classes on a bike :blah

pappy, who is running the quad with +3/4 in the new york series? anybody we know?

Posted by:

My frontend measures 46 inches that's with +1 houser arms and stock rims.........rear is about 47 - 48 or so.with a LSR axle on it..

Posted by: Extremeracer167

well lets figure it out. I beleve stock width on a 400EX is 44 inches wide. So if u get +1s, that would bring it to 46 inches wide, and 4-1 offsets would bring it back 1 inch to 45. SO im running probly at 46 inches with the sag of the front shocks. It just depends, alot of times at the GNCCs the tracks are slowly getting more wide open. So if u were at 47, u should be ok, but it will be tight.

yeah zracer will have that set up. also...these a arms are burgards new design. the have a fully encapsulated ball joint that is replaceable with the removale of a few snap rings. they look very trick and i will be running that same design on my LRd framed 400. i tried to get a picture of them but izzy burgard chased me outta the shop with a steering stem:devil im very excited about his new arms. he has had several sets on racers quads this past season testing them and they did awesome

Posted by: goochy

Thanks for replys, I think 47 will be the limit!!!!! Just looking , If big red does not make a quad, I'm looking at the KFX 700. It is 47.1 wide!!!!!!!! Will have to test drive it 1st. If not I hope someone will buy Cdale. I have $5000 to spend, but I want to wait for Honda. I can get more cash, just sold my Raptor, and did good, I got $5000 for it after I sold all my extra parts. I was happy to get that much, still lost money but atleast its GONE!!!!!!

how many trips up to new york will zracer be makin'. i'd like to check out the a arms sometime.

Posted by: Pappy

they are very nice. he uses a douglas rim and welds an inner ring and then the beadlocks. cant beat them for the price. when i get home i will post a pic

Posted by: 660bigdaddy

thanks. i just ordered a set. curious to see what they look like.

Posted by: Extremeracer167

so are the ones i just ogt off ya the Burgard ones then?? I know u said that, but i was confused, lol. Thast awesome then, did i get like one of the first sets?? LOL that would be awesome.

Posted by: Pappy

yeah extreme u have a set of burgards. he has been doing them for along time. everyone thinks he is new to all this, but he has been in business longer the houser...in fact housres son used to run all burgard stuff before they started makin thier own

Posted by: Extremeracer167

well then these are AWESOME wheels. I like them ALOT!! The welds on the inner rings are superb!!

Posted by: 660bigdaddy

what is really sad is i bought a set of douglas 190's, bent them up. and then ordered the rings from OMF. then paid a guy to weld them in. jerk did a crappy job and i had more into that set than i will into these...

Posted by: MEL

bigdaddy, why the he77 didn't you let me know, i just did a set for harebounder this year. i would have gave you a price you couldn't resist.

Posted by: 660bigdaddy

you can make beadlocks mel?

Posted by: MEL

i can't do beadlocks yet, but i'm working on it. i was talking about the race rings on the .190 's. those are cake as long as there not to beat up.
