Have any of you done the service on a 250EX oil filter? I'm just trying to decide if I should try to do it myself or if I'd just be better off taking it in. Any advice based on your experience would be appreciated.

the bike. If the bike has many hours on it and the oil was not changed often I'd say it needs to be cleaned. You can let it go for a year before cleaning. The only reason mine was cleaned then, I installed new heavier clutch springs and weights. Its not a hard task just a little time consuming.

Clean an Oil Filter???

I throw them away and replace with a new one.
For $3 it is NOT worth even bothering with.
And paying a shop to change oil and filter is a huge waste of resources.

K&N Oil filters are also available for more than double the emcos.
That is if you want the best.

hahahaha.....no, the 250ex has internal screen/filter. It's not the same as on the good ol' 400.
