Now theres two of the reasons I am going to try racing this year. Why not go racing with a "nice guy", and one more Honda finishing ahead of derno's c-dale cant be a bad thing

Posted by: Pappy

i know rick cecco had troubles...and traci wrecked perty hard....other then that it was a day of coldness...lol

Posted by: Derno24

Lou,

Our truck and trailer wasn't that far from Pappy's. We were right in the first row by the track. I am not sure of any good id points. I didn't think it was cold when riding. When my hands got wet in the very beginning they got cold, but after a lap I was fine for the rest of the race. Like I said it was fine if you were riding once you stopped that was a different story. I also went through all of my rolloffs before the end of the race. I used more on the first lap then the rest though.

Lenny: Passing my dale???? You would have to show up and actually run a race. Marlin at least runs and doesn't give any excuses Plus you can't take a smoke break for an hour and a half. You wouldn't make it.

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

Man, I went to the wrong race.....it was sunny and 75 degrees were we were.

Posted by: jlhughes750

the d man really made me look forward to florida. hey pappy, i'm going to Florida, (itsJason not John) Dan's the one thats not going. I'll be there with the Hertz's.
later, J.

well cool then.....you slippin over for a lil bike week action when yer down there:devil im gonna do my best snoop dog act with the video camera........girls gone wild #2895 lmfao!!!

Posted by: 660bigdaddy

anybody have the results of the 4stroke a class ? top 10 maybe?

Posted by: ZRacer

I had a great day at the flying mud fest Dutchmen! Pappy was a great help changing my Googles three times and keeping me motivated to conitinue on even though I couldn't feel my hands and I felt like I gained 50lbs. The key to doing well yesterday was throttle control because there was ICE everywhere. I saw one A racer spin off the track into the River(luckily it was frozen). I said ("Well, thats one positioned gained"). I won the B Class championship at the Flying Dutchmen in 2001 and I use to love that track, but I must have been insane. Anymore, I get weak in the knees when I think about the next race there because of all the mud and water.

Jason is was nice to actually meet you yesterday. Also, I thank Derno for kindly moving out of my way when I was battling for a position. As always, Marlin is always smiling and friendly to everyone. For Rick & Traci, better luck is around the corner. I would rather have bad day at the Dutchmen than at a Nationals.

BTW
My finger tips are still tingling and numb from yesterday???

Wow... What a mess! Did we really look like this???

Special thanks to Ron Derno (Derno24). He gave me a pep talk about two racers talking to each other. He said, "the one that has the most confidence of the two always wins." I actually thought Ron had more confidence than me... Oh well!

Special thanks to Kenny (Pappy)... Great pictures. I do not know how everyone spectating survived the cold wind there... And then to get roosted and continue taking pictures?? I am sure Harlen (ZRacer) appreciated your support!

Lou... I did not see you. I was looking for you before the race and before the race started when everyone was lined up... Sorry. Dave (2 R's), Jason (Jlhughes) I did not see you either.

Harlen (ZRacer), a big congradulations placing 2nd in the 4 stroke A class of 17 racers. Surprized to see you still have a lot of energy after the race! Good to see you talk with us C class riders! Best wishes on your new "Pappy Coatings" Z and the nationals!

If I counted correctly, there was 159 quad racers that raced there Sunday. There was a definetly a lot of Honda's out there! I saw a couple new Polaris 500's, one Gas Gas, several C'Dales, a few Z's/Kawasaki's, a lot of Utility's, a few 250x/300ex's, etc.

Like ZRacer said, the ICE there was pretty scarry! Nothing like taking a turn and not turning!

Anyway, thanks for the pictures on here and for the memories!!! Wow, we must be some crazy people doing this sport when it is like that outside!

Lenny (440Ex4me), I hope you can come to the next one (March 9th) if I remember right. Maybe Ron will give you the same pep talk he gave me!

Ron, sorry to hear about your mishap. I know you would have beaten me if you did not crash, if your brakes did not malfunction, if you would have not spun out on the ice, if it was not muddy out there, if it wasn't soo cold, etc. Also, I am very sorry you did not get to go home with a trophy.:blah BTW... Maybe if you would finish a race, maybe you can get a trophy???

BTW, I did not see ProParts Racing either?

Posted by: Derno24

Marlin: Your cost for the ride up just doubled 2 beers instead of 1. Like I said talk now. Lenny still won't come on the 9th he has to put the smoke down. Maybe Lenny can pit for all of us and Kenny can race.

LMAO

Ron dont worry I can have a smoke when I help you pull that c-dale off of and out of the trees, guess I better take a couple packs :blah :blah

Posted by: QuadRacer041

so...who's all going to the rausch h/s on march 2nd????
anyone there last year at the first race of the season, was it muddy like d-man was?

marlin, i think full fenders would have helped alittle yesterday huh???
at least i saw that i wasnt the only idiot with race fronts,i saw a bunch of other people with cut front fenders.
hopefully my new ones will be here this week

Posted by: Derno24

I think I will be there...Which means Marlin will too and maybe even Lenny...Or will he be there in spirit. Anyway, I think it was bad enough with regular fenders let alone race cut. I can only imagine what it would have been like for you after the whole race.

Lenny: BRING A CARTON. I MAY ALSO START SMOKING WITH YOU TO PASS THE TIME.:grr

Posted by: QuadRacer041

WERE CAN I FIND THE RESULTS FROM YESTERDAYS RACE?D-MAN WEB SITE DOESNT HAVE EM UP?

Posted by: Ex'r Marlin

Flying Dutchmen does not have results posted on the internet. You may want to try calling them at 570-345-6340... They may give you the results over the phone.

Hey Lou... Lots of laughs about the "race cut" fenders... I warned you! Anyway, glad to see you made it out there! What do you think about hare scramble racing now??

Posted by: "2-R's Rider"

hehe cut fenders aint workin so hot there ..
I was only there long to watch the race w/a freind of mine ..
& cheer ya guys on some
Then I split to go elsewhere ...(TCTRI & "Kellners Motorsports")
so I really didnt have time to hunt all of you guys down after the race ,...
But I was there long enuff to know I was glad I decided not to race ....
I can deal w/the sloppy conditions but not when its
that cold ...
I also said hello to Mike & Andy from Rausch Creek as I was leaving ...they were watchin also.

Posted by: Marty@TheQuadshop

Those are some muddy pictures.
I bet it took a jack hammer to clean your Quad

Posted by: Derno24

No it took about $15 at the car wash and they still aren't clean yet.

Yeah, Ron (Derno24) and I still have our work cut out for us to get them clean. Not to mention boots, helmets, chest protector, etc.

Yeah... I think that racer in qqqqq is Ron Derno! Good picture before his crash! His bumber is caved in pretty good now!

Posted by: 660bigdaddy

anyone know where i can get the results? my buddy ran 4 stroke a down at d-man and didn't wait around for the results. (4 1/2 hr drive home)

Posted by: "2-R's Rider"

you guys obviously need power washers :blah
in the long run they are much cheaper
& have other uses,..... also

Posted by: Derno24

I have one. Short days mean no lights. Plus the nieghbors get ticked when I wash them in the middle of the street. I wouldn't wash them in my own driveway. I would be tracking mud into the house till next month.

i emailed them for the results for 2 stroke a and b and left them my race #, i got a very rude responce with just my postion and was asked why i wanted the results for 2 stroke a if i didnt even run that class.
i was told that the results will be up on the d-man web site in a few days.

Posted by: QuadTrix6

Hey guys, hey marlin, lenny, ron.... glad to hear you had fun, nice pics looks like everyone kept clean :devil ....too bad my quad isn't set up for trails looks like a lot of fun...

Posted by: Derno24

Excuses excuses...Lenny wasn't even there it was tooo cold for him....He is a big baby.
