Well I spent some quality time with my 400EX, and when doing my brakes i noticed that the rear pedal was frozen/stiff. I had to remove it and clean the hole out and lub it up....has anyone else experienced this? and is it common the bike is only a year old bought last december. do i need to add a grease nipple or something to keep this from happening again? all input welcome unless you tell me to remove my rear brakes
PS oil changes in winter are a pain in the ***** takes like and hour a bottle.....cold oil=molassous

happenes to me all the time in the winter. just gotta let it thaw and youl be fine..

i heated it up and took it out, then re greased it with brake syn-grease. it should hold up nicly.

Yep, honda is skimpy on the grease when they put them together. Mine needed greasing in about a year.
Always warm the engine up before changing the oil. This allows it to drain much better.

its not the draining it was the filling i can't warm fluid in a bottle by running the engine now can I

May sound stupid, but what i did before was fill a bucket up with hot water and let the bottles warm up for about 20 mins.....Oil poured out nice and easy!!!.......I know, I'm weird.

that what i was thinking about doing to the second bottle but i was running out of day light.

You guys are luckey! mine had rusted in there and i bent it to he!! trying to get it out.now i grease her every time i change the oil(20hrs) along with the steering stem and shock mounts. It was kinda stupid of me because when my brake pedel wouldent come up i thought it was the spring. HHAHAHA what a idiot I was or ..well....still am heh

If it stiffens up on me again i am adding a grease nipple

ever herd of a hair blower i think that would do the trick

ever herd of a BLOW TORCH :blah

Mine froze up, but not from cold.. it got dirt / corrosion in there..
Like the other guy said, pop it off when you change the oil and clean / lube the pivot..
All those guys complaining about rear brake pads not lasting should give it a try
