Well, today me and my friend were out riding our bikes (Me on the Warrior, him on a KX100) and he had a problem with his carb boot so we stopped to try and fix it. After about 15 minutes of trying to fix it we saw a K-9 unit drive up the road so we thought it was a dog catcher but it was a cop (DUH). We were riding on city land but they were cool about it. They talked to us for about 25 minutes lexuring and lexuring ( 4 cops totall) about us and their new golf course. We got off with a break for being cool and not even trying to run even with this 300lb K-9 unit guy walked about .25 miles to us so we easily could have ran but we didint wanna ruin his rebuilt KX with dirt getting in the engine. So they came to my house, parents pi$$ed, and told us not to ride their anymore which means I gotta ride sumwhere else!! WOOHOO!!

my friend and i were ridin in a field one time, and a cop drove by on the road, saw us so he turned around a little ways down the road. when he came bak, he gave us the worst look ever, but he couldnt do anything, we were in the field. i just waved to him( he didnt like that):devil :devil :devil

member when we was ridin u on the 400 and me on the mini and u went home and about and hour later a cop shows up at my house... dint he go to yours too.... i remember our dads talkin bout it.... they werent too hot....

my teacher was talking about people seein different things in cops. one of my best friend's dad is a state cop. well everyone was saying how good cops were. i said, "i see cops as people to run from. they give me the chills when i see them. they don't want anyone to ever have any fun." i got in trouble for that. :devil

i think a little different about that now. some are just for talk and some want us to be safe. i still don't see why i can't ride 30 feet to get to my ridin spot without them yelling. had a cop sit in my front yard for half an hour talking to the neighbors about me.

some cops are cool but it seems like some are just out to get people. I about laughed my arse off when my dad and I got pulled over for "passing in town" even though in a passing zone. lol, he ended up searching the truck and trying to get us for every little thing. The best thing to do around them is to just say yes sir to everything, be nice and tell the truth though. But i'm not gonna take a chance of getting my licence pulled or getting in trouble when I know I can get away on a quad.

im not a big fan of the police, i know there are cops on the site, and i know there are some good ones but i just havn't met them yet

Well these cops were being kinda retarted. They came to my house and said that I can't ride it in my yard or push it to some place to ride or (this was really stupid) I can't even start it up and ride it around in my driveway b/c they said the pipe is WAY to noisy and crap. So now the only place I got to ride at around here is in my 20"- 20" garage with my garage door closed.

Well let me share a little story. Ok. First cops and DNR guys are CO CK SUCKERS! Yea you heard me. First of all, I went in the ride in WI this weenkend. Thursday night till sunday night. On sunday afternoon we were stopped by a DNR/Sherriff. We were sitting on top of this dam thing for the lake and were pinned in. That rulled out running, Which i WOULD have done. I had a buddy with me with a 4X4 rancher though and that would have been cruel for me to do. Anyway, IL and MI dont have a regestration system for ATVS. So he busted me for that. I'm a paramediic and firefighter and i was sure after i talked with him about that he would let me go. But no. He needed to get his tickets! We are in the middle of NO WHERE in WI. Just having a little bit of fun. He swamped me with 2 $160 tickets. I have to get the money by april 7. Cops need to worry about the drunk drivers that i see EVERY friday and saturady night. Leave us Quad guys alone. And if u cops ever flash ur lights at me again you can get your apaches and dogs ready cuase this kid is running.

I hate cops to! The best thing to do while on a quad is to run!! They are way to big of pussies to do anything crazy, like chase u! Although a couple of weeks ago, me and one of my friends were out riding the paved trails and we decided to do some donuts infront of some ladies yard, and she calls the cops, so I send my friend home, and im like 5 miles from home when i see this cop behind me flashin his $h!t at me thinking hes cool and is going to pull me over, I say hell no, so I start hauling anus across a 4 lane highway without even looking and jet up a 50 foot straight up and down hill on the other side and then cut throught peoples yards to get home, and the funny thing is I live about 5 houses from cop, lol.

my friend put a cop car in a ditch.. i kid u not! i was up the hill watchin.. the cop pulled out & he shot tonns of rocks at the cop car & the cop slid into the ditch.. funny as hell! i wish i had a video camra...

Well, first off...we have cops around here...last summer a guy that rented from us down the road got busted for weed, so they have been checking around where i live for everything...i mostly stay on trails, but i can see why they would bust someone, if you dont have your own land to ride on, or a place that you can take your quad to and ride, their is no point in having it, if you say you are "forced to ride on someone you dont know's land or the state's land" you are not, if you dont have anywhere to ride, why have a quad. Yes cops are @$$holes, i think we should be able to ride on the side of the road, and cross, but we cant, but when you go riding on someone elses land without permission, you should get busted, the times i get on the road is to go from one place to another "which i have permission to ride at", i know all the farmers and people around here, and i hate it when someone rides through their crops and messes them up, b/c that is their way of income. People who ride in places and tear up property which they do not own give quad riders a bad name, that is why we have dunes and motocross tracks and parks to ride our bikes at. If i didnt have permission to ride anywhere or have land of my own to ride on, and i wasnt willing to transport my quad somewhere to ride , i would sell my quad and not be complaining about not having anywhere to ride, also, "if all i had to ride on was the road", i would go out and get a streetbike and then they couldnt say anything to me.

Good thing when I get my Quad, I have a little bit of land to drive on(24 acres) and I dont need to run from cops or put them in ditchess:devil But they better not say stuff about being to loud on my property.

I was talking to a state trooper the other day. I asked him about riding the road. In our county we ride the four lane. LOL. Well I asked him about it and he said the post tells them as long as someone is not doing anything crazy and maintaining a safe speed, to not bother them. So our cops let us ride the highways. We're pretty lucky here, get across the county line it's a lil different story, but most around here have a level head about it.

It was almost dark and I was coming back from my friend's house on my bro's Scrambler. I looked behind me and saw some lights so I sped up. It's hard to describe the area, but the cops have seen us out riding lately and seem to have been patrolling more often. Anyway, the car was getting really close so I turned my lights off and darted off the road into this field that connects to the dirt road I live on. I had barely gotten off the road when the car came by and I could tell that it was a police car and that he had seen me so I scooted behind a fence that had a ton of kudzu growing on it. When I looked back he was slowed down almost to a stop. I blasted off across that field as fast as that thing could go. I must have held it wide open for about 15 seconds (which seems like a really long time when you can barely see where you're going!) I didn't think about it at the time, but there really wasn't anything he could do. I wasn't on the road, and the field I was in belonged to an old lady that we know. But still, it was fun.

say you see a cop and decide to make a run for it, but you end p getting caught anyway. is there any other fines or something that you get for running? or is it the same as if you were to just stop and let teh cop give you a ticket.? i need to know jsut in case i am in this predicament

Couple kids did that around here and got caught. One of the kids had the helicopter chasing him and it ended up in about 2-3 grand of fines.

He had to pay for the helicopter "service" and everything. Another kid ran and he got caught and he got evading the police or something like that. But if the cops are cool around you they might not care.

This story was my 1st time getting caught. I just got caught again March 13th and I just got back from court March 28th. I got $115 in fines and 2.5 court supervision.

Well, first off...if they stop you, half the time they will jus let you off with a warning. If you run from them, then they will definately get you for riding on the road, possibly impound ur quad, and get you for evading a officer, and whatever else they can find at that point.

ya, they came over. They said that they got a complaint about a yellow quad, i told him that a lot of people have yellow quads. He said that if he caught me on the road he would bust me, but he cudnt do nuthing then, because he didnt catch me and u when we were on the road. oh well,

day after i got my LT250R i was opening it up on the road... well MR. PoPo came u behind me and nabed me, i was pinned by 3 cops, and got my quad impounded!! i didnt even own the damn thing for 24hrs!!!

and my other one, i was riding the trails on my recon and for some reason a cop was walking it ( these trails are legal to ride on, but i had been going on private property, side trails, hard to explain ) well i see him in front of me and he turns around, so im headed at him, he's wavin at me and chit, well i just keep going strait. im NOT stopping. so im cruisin im getting closer and when im about 10 ft from him i see him dive in the bushes...

hey cheetah what part of kentucky are ya from, im from breathitt county, coo... yeah around here most cops just wave and say howdy our lil city cops are the worst there is only like 6-10 of them but they got the big head syndrome and the whole force will get after wheelers WHO ARE NOT IN TOWN, but they will radio the sherrifs and its all over. ive passed city, state, and county cops on the road waved at them all they could care less cause most of them go home and ride right down the same roads that i ride on. we have more problems with people raising weed and shootin people that ride by than cops pullin people over but it aint the pot growers land either, oh well. i mean if ur goin down the road acting like a fool and doing something dangerous to u or someone else then cops should stop ya, otherwise let us go. i dont hate cops they are just doing their jobs, i dont like the ones that think they are why the sun comes up every morning tho. later

I don't mind cops. I had an accident when I hit a car about a yr or 2 ago and state troopers came and they did'nt give me a ticket b/c my mom was hysterical. I guess it could've been worse. I broke my left femur, tore the chit outta my quad. So if they were all bad I would've had a ticket.

cops are wierd....if you run they might not care enough to chase.....and if you talk they might be cool or might be dicks it can go either way.....

I saw a police car the other day while riding so i slowed and talked to him.....he wasn't even from the town i was in but he still had to bust my ***......and the road was a dead end......plus the people who live there don;t realy car....they way at us when we ride by.

i got stopped with my buddy but my buddy ran. he got busted later but i got off for not running and cooperating. i didnt tell them who my buddy was i said it was some stranger i met on the trails. dont run guys. you'll get off.

hehe. I LOVE to run from cops. Cops around here are @$$#0le$ tho. i ran 2 days after I got my quad, and almost got impounded. He said that I was evading arrest, my quad wasn't tagged/registered, I was underage, No license, just a bunch S#!t he was tryin to bust me for. But I got off with a warning, and I've been stopped like 02938049238 times now all by diff cops!

oh well, I agree w/most of you, cops could be out busting drug dealers, or killers, or ppl who commit much worse crimes than riding their quads that they paid for, and if the cops are gonna B!tch about it, then why don't they make somewhere to ride instead of closin all the places where us riders ride!

I have been busted Maaany times... but im gonna tell yah abotu one.. it was pretty funny... i was riding home from my grandmas this was on christmas day... i was on my 400 and my brother was on his 200 sx ( now has a 300ex). Anyways we were riding home adn instead of teh trail my brotehr thoguth hed take the road so i had to follow him ahha i was hammering 5th gear to the bar and i saw blues.... they caught my brother so i actually turned around and whent over to the cops.. i mean SHERRIFS lol.... i coudlnt leave my little brother to get busted like that ha,, so they ened up letting us go with a warnign.. i think that was my 5th warning ahha anyways it was ****ty at first now i jsut luagh my dad did too.. haha

Theres one cop out where I ride....He has a raptor and he comes down in his squad car and does doughnuts in this field with the lights and sirens on. He is CRAZY!

yeah about the same thing happend to me but it was different. My friends and i were riding on the main road where cops never come well one day we were ridin and this cop comes around the corner allright and when we all saw it we ran for it luckily some other guy came speeding past us and lead the cop off of our ***.
