Make sure you have a kill switch and all the safety equip you feel is necessary,,,,then show up nice and early and the people at the track will help guide you through it.
Get there early and ask a lot of ?s you will find the people to be more than helpful

Posted by: 12gofast
Hey YLW the track is solid as a rock and rutted all to ****....weve got a lot of work to do b4 the 1st MX race.
We are also building a Supercross track down around the tabletop.
There are 2 district 7 saturday night supercross races scheduled for this summer.
We have to get as many quads as we can out to these events or district 7 wont give us quad races ( district 7 does everything they can to discourage quads)
Posted by: YLW400
I have the D-7 schedule now.....
There is one 7/13/03
and 8/24/03
Is this correct???? Quads will be racing on the MX track on these dates.....right???
I WILL be there to race if this is the case.
On all of those dates for the D-7 races...how do I know which ones have quads???? Or do they all???
Posted by: 12gofast
tomahawk mx races are:
3/16
4/27
7/13
8/24
with sat nite supercross races scheduled for:
7/12
8/23
all these races will include quads!! not all are points races
Posted by: YLW400
Well, I will be there for at LEAST the quad races!!! I cant wait!!
Posted by: 12gofast
ALL 6 OF THOSE DATES WILL INCLUDE QUAD CLASSES.....SO BE THERE!!!! MY NON MXn BUTT NEEDS SOME PEOPLE TO RACE WITH!!!
I will post the Harescramble dates later....
YLW is your brother going to race?
Posted by: 250rmike
u will need a kill switch. and it would be a good idea to have nerfs. Budds is a pretty weird place for quads when its not the national they dont really care if we go by ama requirements. there are 4 classes 2 stroke, 4 stroke, pro, and vet. thats it. but have fun and ill see u there later this year when my hand completely heals
Posted by: 3x440ex
i plan on running in 4 stroke B class......i have everything i need except for a #....i'm gonna go up monday and buy some at our local here. I'm just planning on using 185 until i'm issued one from AMA. hopefully nobody will have that #
Posted by: 250rmike
they dont have 4 stroke b its just 4 stroke unless it is a national. just 4 stroke 2 stroke pro and vet. i guess u could call t 4 stroke b but its really just whoever rides a 4 stroke that isnt a pro see ya there ill either be racing a 2hite 250r #510 or a 250x/350x white machine #96 if i sell my r.
Posted by: YLW400
I doubt if he will 12gofast. Are you going to run the MX races 12gofast????
Posted by: 250rmike
where's this track at? i might have to come race see how good all u old folks are against a youngin
:blah

Yea Im going to run the vet class....just to have a little fun and to be able to enjoy what I helped with building!!
Posted by: YLW400
How old do you have to be to run a "vet" class? I guess I will just run C class.. I wouldnt want to get beat on a MX track by a XC guy!!:blah
Posted by: 3x440ex
it's 30+....i thought about running in the VET class myself. I'm still undecided.
some of these younger guys can run forever...Budds Creek is a big track, is it 3 or 4 laps? anyways, i can't wait....i'll see you guys there, i'll be the one looking real confused
........I'll be in a silver F-250 with Atlantic power washing on the door.
Posted by: 12gofast
Ok YLW I will run whatever class you are in......Im just playing anyway!!!!
Most likely we will combine classes at Tomahawk.....so we can fill the gate! We will see what kind of turnout we get b4 we decide this.
We want to establish a good quad attendence and Chad has given me the OK to pursue a GNC National for the track!!!!
Posted by: YLW400
Well I am glad that you are a part of this track for a representative for quad riders. Otherwise, who knows were it would have gone! There is a D-7 race at Budds Creek March 16th. But it looks like I can hit there March 27th!! I would like to get back there soon after I get my shocks and play around a bit!
Posted by: 250rmike
the race lasts 30 min plus 1 lap. ill be in a black chevy tahoe with a 13ft flat bed trailer white 250r or 250x/350x race bike
Posted by: YLW400
30 minutes!!!!!! Thats way too long for me...lol 12gofast? How long are your alls heats going to be?????
Posted by: 3x440ex
hey 250r......i thought there were 2 heat races, does that mean 2- 30 min races?

is your wrist all better ?....sure hope so ..hate to hear ya use that for an excuse when the "old folks" leave ya in the dust ..lol :square
Posted by: 250rmike
i should be able to do some hard riding in about 2-3 weeks. i just wanna play it somewhat safe so I dont have to get surgery and skip half or more of the season. but yea ill be there with ya old guys. yes there are 2 races a day with practice before they are two 30 minute plus 1 lap races. most people get between 3-5 laps depending on how fast you are and not much more and thats on dirt bikes. as you all know budds is a huge track. a little under 2 miles i believe
Posted by: YLW400
Hey Mike and 2R's, you guys should plan on coming to the track that 12gofast mentioned earlier. I think he has a link to it in his profile. It is a fun track. Alot of elevation changes and such.
Posted by: "2-R's Rider"
sounds like a plan ...& maybe i could get mikey on the way there...
Posted by: YLW400
Then you would have to listen to him whine the whole way home that he got beat by the "old" guys.
:blah
Posted by: 250rmike
na i wont wine im a real man i admit defeat. accually ill prolly whine alittle but so would anyone lol. plus im not running my bike again till i get it set up so it might be a few weeks

...mikey's ok ..
Posted by: 3x440ex
well lets see here
i'm going 30+ mph on a 2 mile track for 30min.......that means i can go 15 miles divided by 2 that's 7.5 laps for me :devil
Posted by: YLW400
riiiiiiiiiiiiighhttttt..........lol
Posted by: 3x440ex
i already installed my horn, so you all will know i'm coming:square
Posted by: 250rmike
lol if you can average 30mph at budds i wanna come watch. you should be racing with the pros
Posted by: 3x440ex
man i fell like such an freekin idiot.......i spent half my day yesterday packing everthing up, got up at 3:30 this morning, loaded the kids in the truck, drove all the way there an hour in a half just find out the race was cancelled:confused2 :confused2 next time i won't make the mastake of not double checking before i leave.........there was a couple other people coming in as i was leaving......oh well there's always next week.
Posted by: YLW400
Man, that stinks!!! Did you at least go riding somewhere else when you got home?? lol
Posted by: 3x440ex
yeah....i was on my way to our local track after i droped off the kids and my wife called me on my cell phone to inform me that my down stairs was floded:grr :grr it ends up our pipes were cloged. i've been working on it every since......so far i bought 2 plumming snakes ......a 25' and a 50' niether of which was long enough......i'm going now to rent a 100' ...hopefully that do it.
Any plummers out there? Na, i should get it with the 100'. i finally found the opening to the pipes outside..it was hiding in my flower bed under about 4" of mulch.....i made it all the way to the very beginning of the clog with the 50' but i need at least another 2' to clear it. there's no telling how far it's backed up...
Posted by: 3x440ex
well i should be a certified master plumer by now:blah :blah it wasn't even my clog.....it was the counties

Budds usually runs two moto's at 4 to 5 laps each moto for MX. They race every weekend in Feb for a winter series. Everyone should come out and race. I will be there this Sunday Feb 9th riding a Cannondal because my R is not together yet.

ok if they don't do ama requirements then does it matter about age? cuz if they don't i be there cuz its hard to find a place without ama rules

Posted by: 250rmike
they do some requirements i dont know if they will make you be 16 cause i have never tried to race there when i was under 16.i have personally seen bikes there without nerfs and a kill switch. you can try but i cant garentee you that youll be able to race.
