What happened to the Four Stroke Modified class??
www.gnccracing.com
Posted by: tprender
Isn't that the class that got split into 16-24 and 25+ and called 4-stroke novice. I could have the wrong class.
Posted by: gncc400exxx
correct me if i'm wrong but I believe it's now 4stroke A and 4strokeB
Posted by: gncc400exxx
4stroke novice is also split
Posted by: GNCC#829
I guess it would have to be 4 stroke A or B.
Posted by: 465Stroker
It is now 4 stroke - A.

So what would be the difference between open B and 4-stroke B they also have 250 B
Posted by: 465Stroker
Open B you can run big bore two strokes (over 250cc) or a 4 stroke.

If I'm not mistaken Open B is 251cc and up 2 stroke and 4 stroke quads, 4-stroke B is any 4 stroke riders and 250 B is 250cc and down 2 stroke. All them are for B level racers.

I'd say here in about 5 years you'll need to go to college to understand all the rules and regulations of the GNCC...
I wonder if they purposely make it hard to understand???

they needed to split novice. it was way out of hand. 50+ riders every time. how did they split it? by cc?
Posted by: Extremeracer167
I believe if i remember it right from the meeting, they split it by Age. And they were also proposing 2 4 stroke stocks. 0-400cc and 401-and up.

You should have tried being in First year racer or 4 stroke C 2 years ago at Loretta lynns. Both classes had 70+ riders!

I don't remember seeing all that many 2 strokes in any open class last year. Guess there's not that many big bore 2 strokes out there. YEA RIGHT!!!!!!

How about the the Ironman this year, 100 4-Stroke C riders and 80 First Year Racers! I am going to run the 4-Stroke C class this year, and I hate that they split it. There is nothing like the rush you get when you get the 10 second warning along with 50 to 80 other riders who are lined up next to you. But, I know they did it for safety.

wingnut, you had a pretty good first year at the gncc's. what class are you going to run this year?
Posted by: Extremeracer167
whos wingnut?
I had the worst year racing so far. I mean i have only been racing 2 years now, but it was the worst out of the 2, lol

It was pretty good, I guess. There were a lot of dissapointments. Just about every time I worked my way into the top five I had something go wrong. I don't really know what class I will run next year, I change my mind just about every day. Maybe 4-Stroke C (just because I can), 4-Stroke B, Open B, or 4-Stroke Stock.

Hey wingnut, run Four stroke A with me! We had a couple good battles in the First Year Class last year. But I do have new shocks now.
Posted by: Wingnut
I'll think about it. A classes scare me. Are you going to be #829 again this year? I might do Open B. With the new 4-Stroke B class I will probably be racing a bunch of 2-Strokes!

What are your guys' names. If u ran First year last year, what places did ya get. I took 3rd place.
Posted by: Wingnut
Extreme, didn't you run First Year in 2001? I am calling 2002 last year. I think I would have won the FYR class if they had given us points, I am the only one to have gotten a number for next year. My name is Will Cashion.
Posted by: Extremeracer167
OOOHHHH ok, yeah i ran it in 01. Thats when they still gave us points and prizes at the end of the year. I know that i kinda wish i woulda stayed in B class this year, and not jumped right up to 4 stroke mod. But towards the end of the year i could hang, just had HORRIBLE luck. Good luck to ya this year!
Posted by: GNCC#829
I only ran 8 races in 02, If I would have ran 9 I would have gotten a number too. I won twice, but had a ton of bad luck. I was running on stock shocks, now I THINK I can run with the A guys, we'll see after the first race.

You guys need to remember it is a big jump just going to the afternoon race. It can seem like a completely different track after all you morning guys rut it out. Might cosider running B classses for a few races...then if you are bored moved up to A.
Posted by: erac4019
I was just wondering, why does the sport class run in the afternoon? The PM race is A riders, Pro's and Sport? Kinda weird isnt it?

I ran Four stroke Mod at the Crawfordsville race. I know what you mean about the different track. I had a few problems during the race, and I still finished about halfway back on 3 year old stock shocks.

i ran A for years, let me tell u,i got out of it for a year or 2 then when i came back , they had split am and pm. I ran a few A races this year and then just for fun i ran the stock class at Mt Morris, There is definently and difference in the track. WOW its really rutted and whooped out after the am race is done. as far as moving up in class. These guys need to easily mop up the B classes before crowding the A classes, i know that Rita (racerprod) is cracking down on this in 03. Just cause u spank the C class, dont think u should skip a class. Take your time especially if u are young, even if u can mop up B then spend a year getting good starts and practicing making bonzai passes in the woods, then when u go A you can really have some skills. U can be fast, but if people are in your way and u cant pass them then u are gonna be screwed!!!!!!!!! also running 100% for 2 hours is an aquired skill, u guys might hang for a few miles or a few laps, but these guys, like Lucas(open A) and Hertz(250A) Lemley(250A) Cecco(4stkA) these guys will make u look weak on the last lap, and they will still be in full control of there machines because they have at least 3 full seasons running the series!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: 660bigdaddy
well said 750. that last lap is a killer. the track is ripped up more than it ever has. your body is drained and bill ballance just past you. now is when you tell yourself don't quit. get to the finish line.:grr
