Where exactly is gorman also and the other place you mentioned. I usually go riding in Baumont or Azuza Canyon...

I rode my 400ex with my DMC pipe and didn't figure out for 2 days that my packing was all gone....boy she was a noisy *****, I was never harrassed or anything, so I don't think you'll have a problem.

Dove Springs/Jawbone area is about 30 miles past the town of Mojave. Here is a link to all the riding areas in California.

Dove springs and jawbone are about 13 miles apart from each other but you can ride to them on trails and fire roads. Mostly desert. Gorman is mostly trails and some fire roads. I like dove springs/Jawbone better. Jawbone has long @$$ hillclimbs and dove springs has more sandy hills to play on but is a very nice riding area.

I never got checked at Gorman. The rangers are only on you if you dont have a spark arrester. they stoped us on a trail one time just to check.
Hey wicked Gorman is alot better then azusa cyn. imo

Ive never ridden at azusa but gorman is good in my opinion. Lots of trails. You should give dove springs/Jawbone a chance. They used to have a shop to get drinks and stuff but it burned down in a fire. Unfortunatly i never saw it because I just started goin there about 3 years ago. The last time I went there me,my bro, and my dad discovered some old mining place with 3 cars. 1 was an old suburban, one was an old truck i tihnk (cant remember) and the other was an old school bus. I thought it was awesome because I have been goin there for like 3 years and there are still trails to go on. You can even get into the yosemite(sp) national forest with the sequea(SP) trees. I like riding at that place a lot. The only bad thing is that there are a lot of whoops. I mean A LOT. Sorry I was just blabbin on.

To get back to the original question, Yeah California just passed a new sound level law. You are supposed to be below 96 decibles to ride in any area in California. If it is enforced is another question. Up here at a local riding spot called Hollister Hills, they started there testing the first of the year. My bike was at 100.2 decibles, but the rangers only gave a warning and said we had to fix the pipes to hit the 96 range. They still are going to give us a few months to convert our bikes, then they will not let us ride there without a sticker proving we have tested and passed. How it will be elswhere I am curious to see. I will be in Pismo the 15th of Feb, so I will ask about the new regulations when I am there.

Hey mopar what did your dad's quad come in at with the Sparks? Did it pass if not how close was it and what are your plans to get them to pass? I think we are gonna head up to hollister eather next weekend or the one after depending on when our spark arrestors come in and we are woundering if we are gonna pass or not.

By the way I was in Pismo a few weeks ago and no one even looked at us twich for noise or no spark arrestors. I don't think they really care at all down there. At least not on slower weekends.
