Hey man, it actually took a tad bit less than a year to do it!! Well worth the wait for me though!!

Posted by: Porkchop

I'd send it to Pro Fab and have them put a 426 kit in it

Posted by: Pappy

i will be selling the LSR swingarm...and installing this one

Posted by: d-14 rider 27

"I'd send it to Pro Fab and have them put a 426 kit in it "

I have never ridden a cdale but I can belive that the 400 is the better overall of all of them. As of right now my dream quad would be a 400 chassis with a crf450 motor and 250R front brakes.

You putting this one back stock?? I see 4 sets of pegs and stock shocks around.

Posted by: forum

im puttin 250r brakes on the front and back of my 400ex based 426. I had to order baldwin conversion plates to mount up the fronts. but the double pistons and the wave rotors, with White brothers brake pads. it should stop on a dime. I know galfer says if you use another companies brake pad then there waranty is void. but even if i did want to claim a waranty.(what for i don't no) Im sure they couldn't tell what pads i was usin. geez pappy that looks like my garage. I got 3 400ex's in a million pieces sitting all over my garage. (friends) Are you going to gusset that babby up. Can you weld or are you gonna have the quad shop do it?

Posted by: Sparks425Ex

Very Sweet Pap. I say go with Pro Fab ATV for your motor or to Hetricks is always cloase and has great engines.

Posted by: Pappy

yes i can weld....i will do all the work on the chassis.

still undecided on what engine to do..maybe stay stock for now...cuz rick cecco is building me a thumper for the LRD frame

Posted by: 400MXer

might i suggest a Fischer cycle motor. i've got a 416 right now with stock carb and it rips. i'll be adding a 41mm FCR hopefully by the begining of the season. and a stroker crank next winter.....that's the plan at least. A 440 Stroker. fischer works wonders. he's a good builder. it didn't take a year or anything to get my motor, i think it was like two months or 2.5 months.

i can have a 416 that rips in less then 30 dayz....wazzup with these shops takin 2 months

Posted by: Extremeracer167

just get TC components aand do the motor work yourself! Its not hard at all. Jeeze if an 18 yr old kid like myself can rip an engine down to bare cases and put it back together, im sure u can 2, and why pay someone to do it? I like the hands on projects myself. Ide rather know EXACTLY what was done to my engine, then having someone do it for me. Guess im jus tpicky though

Posted by: Foxrage

I cant have mine bored ported and polished and done right in about a weeks time for around 200 but i have to pay for all the parts and porting.

Posted by: kicken250x

whats the longest youve kept one quad? seems like 2 weeks!?!

Posted by: Pappy

If in the end you come out on top and are making money then I say sell away.

Just like I always say. Everything is for sale for teh right price. I don;t care what it is. You show me teh cash in the right amount and I will sell just about anything.

HAHA you got it

Posted by: Tommy 17

pappy y don't u build another 426!!!!!!!! like last time huh!!!! we all know u had a 426 at rasuch!!!!:grr

hahahaha

Posted by: 440EX4me

Kenny from a 416 to a 440 I can help ya out there, but no stroker, I think you can do that all by your self

When you really think about it these "builders" are seriously pushing the limits. The limits of what we will pay and how long we will wait. Thats why I just do it myself. Is it easy, no not by any means but its not too hard either. Well its not as hard if you have access to a competant machine shop, and thats possibly the hardest part.

Posted by: Pappy

when the fella who owns that 400 tears here apart...i will send you the piston young thomas

lmao:blah

Posted by: Tommy 17

send me the real piston... u know the .120 bore one 12.5+ compression!!!!!!

Posted by: Pappy

thx 440....

rick cecco is building my xc motor now. i dunno what it will be...i have no idea i know his engine lasted him and has more then enough to get my old arse scootin along:devil

i like rico's 416....very fast indeed.

and there aint no way i would be stupid enough to do a stroker that exceed the limitations of the engine. i like the idea of stroking an engine....but in the 400ex...i think its a time bomb. i have talked with several that have had negative feedback on them...and only a few that actually had one stay together.

i want reliability...a lil more speed etc. i know how to make a 400 haulass so i dont need a huge engine :blah but a lil more midrange outta the 400 would be a good thing...and i think a 416...mid range cam and a well ported head will get the job done fo'me

Posted by: user101

sounds good to me

Posted by: Foxrage

How much will you charge me to do everything in this box chome powdercoat and 3 calipers. I think i want the heat sheild prism black tho. How much so i can start saving my pennys.
