well tested stator and it's bad so ordering a new one. when i get it is there anything i can do to help protect it from the mud, snow, water. i read something a long time ago about sealing the windings but not sure how to do that.

Best advice if it's not too late... get a new DRR or Apex brand stator! The Polaris ones are not sealed as well, and fail more often.

A lot of times you can get a "new take off" from someone who just built a race bike and switched to an inner rotor style ignition real cheap compared to a new Polaris one too.
