had pleanty of quads but never a blaster till now, what are the first thangs i need to up grade, i thank its preaty much stock other than been bored 30 over and reed valves, need cheap ideas on upgrades, also should i unhook oil injector and just mix my own gas? i heard they go out sometimes, and would be safer to mix own gas, also what is the oil ratio? and would installing an oil cooler benifit me any like on a 300ex? do these thangs get hot on the trail?

ok started going through this blaster, the oil injector has been removed, ( i geuss) the oil bottle has ben removed, what else do i need to look for?its been along time since ive had a 2stroke, from what ive seen on here people are running 32:1 oil ratio?the brakes also are not up to par but looks like the pads are good, any help guys? thanks

32:1 is fine. I prefer 40 myself. if your not planning on major motor work, get a Fmf fatty pipe with a dg silencer. It is a good combo on a stock to mild motor. I also recommend a thin headgasket from vitos performance. It puts the compression right about 150psi which is perfect for 93 octane. another cheap mod is advancing the timing 4 degrees. get a good airfilter and drill holes in your airbox lid or take it off. Do you know what reeds are in it?

v force 3 is what on spacer? what do i need to set jet at? how many turns out(the big screw on shifter side)if i give it full throtle while riding it bogs real bad,but dosent do it if in neutral, also what are the two holeson motor with rubber plugs in them on brake side? do these thang run hot?install oil cooler here?
thanks and where is idle screw?

Posted by: sladeedge

what are these holes for? oil cooler?there is rubber plugs in the holes, anybody?

that was for the 2 stroke oil injector unit. they go bad all the time, and i'm glad its already unhooked for you! the vforce 3 reeds are the best on the market for the blaster! if you get a pipe and the other mods a suggested throw in a 270 main jet and you'll be all set. It will really wake the blaster up and be alot more fun to ride.

the vorce reeds have a built in reed space basically. Turn out the pilot screw about a turn and a half to start and go from there. you should have a main jet of 230 right now.. you might want to see what its set at. The idle adjustment is under the seat between the tank a frame. its a big screw on top of the carb.
