friend of my dads rancher seems to slowly be getting gas in the oil what should i check or look for

Remove your carb and clean also check for the line coming out of the bottom of the carb. I usually remove that line after cleaning a carb because if it is stopped up the gas doesn't have anywhere to go but into the engine.
