something has to be wrong. Bet the guy that is selling it has a smile ear to ear.

no its called crazy people i know a guy that got close to 475 for a red one that was off a 88... it was nuts! just like the one in the pic no pet cock or cap.

You can get a whole 250r in decent shape for another $1000...why would somebody pay that much for that tank? It has scratch's just like any other tank I have seen. WTF

If you look at the bid history there are six bids. All but one are from the same bidder.

dang, i got 2 blue tanks and 1 is just as nice if not nicer than that one, i better get it on the auction block

The blue tank and blue hood have been discontinued for years.

my tank cost less than the fuel in it, but if i wanted one bad enough i guess i might have to pay $400

If I remember correctly, I paid $300 for my new OEM red tank for my restoration. It was the last known new tank available, unless there's one sitting, collecting dust on a dealer's shelf somewhere.

i can understand paying that price for a restoration if it is going to sit in the garage. one ride and it is is ruined (woods riding). i personally like riding them. restorations are nice but i really like a bike that is used like it is supposed to be. basically a low hour original.

what bothers me is all the people that think that they will make money on an original 250r by buying old NOS parts and then saying the bike is original. well what is mine worth:87r original clutch, reeds, front brakes....... with the original bill of sale and title.
just venting..... sorry
