How hard is it to eliminate the decompression system on a 250x engine? I am missing the decompression cam follower, on the clutch cover, and the cam follower is no longer available. So I was wondering if disabling the decomp. is the right thing to do, but not sure of what needs to be done. Any suggestions on what to do or what direction should I go?

No you dont need the decomp. You can just take the clutch cover and the valve cover to a machine shop and they should be able to make some press on plugs.
