I am a new rider who is gunna race a couple of times next summer and I was just wondering if there were any basic teeth counts out there for better acceleration without compromising too much top speed?

I went to a 13 tooth sprocket on the counter shaft and that gave me the low end I was looking for. It probably took about 5mph on top end. How often do you really hit wide open? On trails only maybe on a fire road.
