Any mx riders from north Alabama here? If so what are you riding and where?
Posted by: JM317
I know of a few in North and Central AL but I ride XC so I rarely make it to them, what city are you from?
Posted by: cwr~413
well i work in gadsden. i'm pretty close to breman and chandler mnt. pell city has the national and a race or two that allow quads but they never let quads in on practice days. there is a new track starting up in glenco that will allow quads anytime.

There's also Sand Mountain MX and The Ridge in Springville has a few practice tracks.

I new in here but been riding along time.. I am member of NATRA and ride west point almost every weekend.. Good place to ride but starting to turn more into Bike trails. Good mix of Extreme Hills and LOTS of wood trails. Membership is 50 a year and thats cheap if u figure out what u pay each time at other places. Give me a shout sometime guys and i'll meet ya up there wit my lil group i ride wit..... Creek riding is out tho the TN EPA is cracking down

Are you guys into sport or utility quads? I'm thinking Westpoint is about a 3 hour drive from here.

i ride a YFZ 450.. most my crew rides sport quads. One or two occasionally bring 4x4 style quads. my email slowpny@aol.com we gonna ride next sunday for sure and may even ride sat. if i can get a few together....

are thr trails wide enough to run mx suspension? i like going trail riding too even with the mx arms and suspension. i usually trail ride at highland park. i jusnt hrow my stock tires on there and go. so its a three hr drive?
Posted by: slowpny@aol.com
u can ride a MX bike.. some trails may be a lil to tight but there is still plenty to ride... Buddies of mine ride Polaris Outlaw 525 and a few Honda 450R wit no major problems.....

Used to be lot of great places to ride in N AL, but I do not think anythnig is left - no more Russelville, Sayre, Fultondale, Chigger Ridge........ Birmingham used to have some of the best pipelines that I have ever been on.

Ur right.. but DRUNK IGNORANT people ruined all that years ago!! It was free too!!! People dont respect anything anymore.
I pay to be a member of NATRA to ride west point without a min hesitation. But i know guys who "have ridden there for years" and wont join and destroy stuff when they go cuz rules dont apply to them!! I dont ride with folks like that now because thats the folks who RUIN all the places to ride....
WE ARE RIDING west point this weekend if anyone does wanna go.. Im sure one time no one gonna say much and if u like it then its EASY to join and its OPEN 24 hours a day 365 a year and only closed during Hare Scrambles and Enduro Races!!!

There's several places to ride still...
Wilborn's ATV Trails
The Ridge
Argo Offroad Trails
Kentuck
Brecon aka Coosa River Annex
Stoney Lonesome
Doc Hilt Trails
Minooka Park
Southern Ridge
Gardendale/Mt. Olive
Morris
Bankhead National Forest
and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more.
