I just bought a used set of plus one up one long travel Houser xc a-arms and was thinking of rewelding the lower shock mount so i can use regular travel shocks instead of the long travel that these a-arms call for. I am pretty confident it will work, but if anyone here has done this or can tell me why i should'nt any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why would you put them on if your not going to put long travel suspension to make them work to there full capacity? Why not just leave the stock a-arms on then? Just wondering.

I am more concerned with them giving me a wider stance with them being PLUS one inch. They are also adjustable as far as camber and all, stock is not and you cant even replace the lower ball joints unless you cut and tap the a-arm. The bearings have grease zerks in them, the stock ones dont. I got the Housers cheap and can get a nice pair of regular travel shocks way cheaper than long travel. I race in the woods where long travel is not a must. My fault for lack of detail in the original post, but there is my reasoning. New question......Anyone have info on this modification that would lead to handling problems or functionability??? Thanks

I would either buy the proper shocks or sell the arms and buy some standard travel.I ride alot of mx but i also trail ride alot with +3 arms and no problems
