From what I understand you can't simply just swap out the throttle body for a carb if that's what you are thinking......that would be just too easy.

i heard that the rear shock rezzy get in the way of the carb and that when u switch to carb you dont have a rev limiter.
im not sure about this i just read it in other thread
Posted by: Stiles86
i dont have to worry about the shock, i just seen people do it on the kawis and figured i could do it on an ltr... im probly just gonna buy the kit from atp

you can swap to a 450r carb but its a very tricky task. if you want to do the swap the best thing id to just call Mike at ATP and let him do it. you send him you wire harness and thumb throttle housing he cuts out all the un-nesasary stuff for the fuel injection and you have the put threads in your throttle housing for the throttle cable to thread in. if you have a kick-start he can take even more out the harness. the carb and kick-start take 29 pounds off the LTR. also with the carb you DO have a rev-limiter. dik where you heard that. i have this setup on my race-bike i will put up some pics.

awsome man i would love to see those pics... thanks for the info

how are there motors and pricing i was thinking of sending them my motor as well... my tranny is shot so it has to be torn down anyways..
Posted by: atveric132
its all on there website...www.atpracingengines.com
I wouldnt be able to tell you exactly cuz im one of mike's sponsored riders so i dont kno the regular publics price. As far as there billet 3rd gears when i bought my 08 i tore it down the the frame and completly rebuilt it. i have had no tranny problems.
Posted by: Stiles86
my new 08 ltr made it 9 motos befor the tranny went... suzuki needs to figure that crap out...

believe me dont keep wasting your money on stock gears. spend the extra money once and get mikes gears. A fellow a-class rider his 3rd went out so he bought 09 3rd gear and it lasted about a 4 months.

How can you still have a rev limiter with a carb?
When the motor reaches the max rpm's the fuel delivery is cut off to the injector.
You can't do that with a carb.
Posted by: atveric132
well its not nessasary a rev limiter but you get to a sertain point when all your doing is winding out your motor and your not gaining anything in which you shift to go faster. same concept as a rev limiter. you have to kno when you reach the point of your motor pulling or just crankin up and not doing anything

my friend is doing the carbon conversion and the stock rear rezzi hits too. I guees u have to run aftermarket shocks only?
Posted by: Drewltr450
call ATP they know what there doing when it comes to carbed ltr's

whats the point in putting in a carb on a FI system?? what are you going to get out of it besides maybe a few pounds or so? Suzuki has one of the best FI systems for the quads, why take it out?? it just seems point less to me
Posted by: atveric132
I am one of mikes sponsored riders."at atp" my race bike motor with the carb and kick start. it took 31.62 pounds off the bike. you have less to worry about and keep up. such as the injecters, throttle body sensor, fuel regualtor, fuel pump, and all the wires that go with it.
