09 ds 450 x MX. I broke my tether switch today and can't remember if it's a closed or open loop. Any help? Thanks, Craig

If it is a Pro Design or Pro Armor it is normally open

If it is a Pingel or a Gunnar, it is normally closed (Gunnar can be normally open as well, depends on which one someone buys)

I don't much care which one I replace it with, I just need to order one and replace it by this weekend.

Also, I thought it was my ATV that was either open or closed, and I needed to find a tether that was open or closed, depending on which the ds 450 is?

Thanks, Craig

I should have been more clear... which one do you have right now?

You can run a Normally open if you run it throug the key switch wires

If you run a normally closed you run it through the wires leading to the kill switch on the handlebars.

You can use either one though.

I have the Gunnar...I just looked. Just my fricken luck. LOL As you say, they can be ran open or closed. I am looking in the service manual now to see if my quad is open or closed. I DO NOT like the way the gunnar operated and was leaning towards pro armor, pro design, etc... I'm still diggin in the manual but can't find it. I apreciated your help. BTW...what tether do you run? Do you like it? Thanks, Craig

I have the Pro Armor, it has lasted all season and works great. I would def recommend them over the Pro design.
