Im going to get a new quad an I was thinking about the ltr but, I will race it ONLY IN DESERT (baja) that's why Im not sure about buying it, what mods does it need to be race ready in desert?

There was an article just last month, I think, in Quad Magazine where they set up an LTR for the desert. The top ten mods on it were Walsh a-arms, precision dampner, yoshi pipe and cherry bomb, PRM skids, Fox shocks, DWT beadlocks, tire balls, Gafler rear brake line w/ cooler, bumper and PCI radio. They didn't touch the motor.

It's a pricey list but not all is necessary. I would say focus most on suspension, tires, and undercarriage protection for the desert.

Nick Nelson won the BAJA 500 2009, and finish 3rd in the SAN FELIPE 2009 this year.

The suzuki ltr 450 can do anything haha
