Looking at buying a set. I'm a trail rider, and have never had a set of nerfs. Do they help out any? Are they mainly for track use?

If you are just trail riding, don't waste your money. If you are racing, they are must haves.

I like em for riding on the trails, just a little more protection from rocks and sticks, or slipping your foot off the peg....

The outlaw felt weird for a few months without them.

The tusk brand from Rocky Mountain ATV are nice, and ~$100. I have a set on the Pred.
