Ok well we just got back my tc national motor and it is running alot hotter then the stock one we had so we are going to try to install a 450r radiator fan to blow air past the motor. I already talked to tc about an oil cooler and he explained to me that it is not an oil cooled motor it is an air cooled motor so it is not werth the money or wieght. So I was just wondering if any one has stalled a fan on their 300ex?
Thanks

i was thinking the same thing because that's a big down fall on them motors....

I've seen alot of people us the 250r side air scops and an oil cooler. Even though the motor is not oil cooled it would still have to be an improvment over nothing, and you are not going to add that much weight; there made out of aluminum. Look at the 250ex and 400ex, they both have oil coolers and ther air cooled.

unless you are running an extremely large bore, i wouldnt waste the time on a fan, how ever there are results to be had with an oil cooler.

at most id fab up some shrouds and get an oil cooler

a custom built motor will run hotter its inevitable.

well you'd think if youre motor is running hotter, your oil is going to be hotter. so id definately get an oil cooler and like these guys say the side scoops.

Are you using VP ? Which octane ?

Im probably going to end up getting an oiler cooler after all but I am running vp c16 = 116 octane

I run V16 also. My dad was saying if you're running too low of an octane that it will make it run hotter. I have an oil cooler and shrouds and feel anything to make it cooler can't hurt.
