will 10 yards of good fill dirt make a decent size table top?

not sure..lol...but since i dont have much dirt i make all doubles and then just move the landing back if i get comfortable

I just got done making a 7/10ths of a mile track at my property here in Michigan. Tabletops use a LOT of dirt but as you may know are the safest jumps you can make. Just FYI, a 10 yards pile of dirt is not very big at all. Most of our tabletops have 100-200 yards of dirt. This is a real number, not blowing any smoke. We used 8000-10,000 yards of dirt for our jumps due to the tabletops.

thanks for the info buddy, that really puts things into perspective for me, im not making anything real big though, i was thinking a table top so everyone of all levels could have fun, but i think making a small double, with 20 yards of dirt will be fine

thanks again for the response

I got a bunch of used culverts from the county, and i bought some large used 36in. plastic culverts that i found in the paper for sale. i layed them in a row and put the dirt on top about a 1 ft deep. So i built a 45ft and a 60ft table top using about 1/4th the dirt that would normally would be used. I know i had to pay something for the culverts but not as much as I would pay for 20 truck loads of dirt!
