Always good to see old LTs!
What sprockets are you using to get your LT up to 92mph?
Posted by: axellmusic19
I'll have my project done soon and will post the before and after pics when finished. Should be in the coming week. PS its not the classic colors

Is that a typo or did u really mean 92? mph? Nice lookin quad tho btw....
Posted by: thyman17
it wasnt a typo...i was clocked at 92mph at the speedway. I was running race gas with different sprockets and asphalt tires. Im not sure what sprocket choice i used...illl have to look in the shop.
Posted by: Rebel lt250r
here is my 86 LT. Still working on getting it to where i want it but closer to what the goal for me is. Just added some lights, LED tailight, converted it back to thumb throttle, (got a twist brand new if anyone wants) Newer factory front fenders, some missing brackets added, chain rollers, new hood and cap, and looking for some factory graphics. fresh rebuild on the engine, carb all new jets mikuni, all stock except the DG silencer.
Fun bike, love old two strokes.
good looking 88LT by the way

No thats no Typo. I had an 89 when I was a kid. Bought it brand new. And they where FAST! They easily would run in the low to mid 80's stock...

Sorry, it may have FELT like you were doing low 80 mph... But you weren't going that fast on a stock LT250R. Stock everything, most importantly gearing, they would do 70-72mph max.
Ok, back to the thread topic. Although doing a search would show a couple other threads of the same topic, and lots of LT pics.. Including mine.

Here ya go!

Well you can't live too far from me *****wipe, so why don't you bring that lil peepee over and see what gets done with it? You spout a line of chit, I politely call you on it and you get your panties in a twist. Flock you. I see you will be another productive member to the forums, and riding...
Ok, enough off topic. Post pics of your 80+ mph LT250R or STFU.

here ya go. notice the old Kenda viper aftermarket rear tires. Remember those.

Heres another. These photos are probably from about 1991 or so. Infact I know they are because there where also photos of my dads brand new chevy truck in with them and it was a '91. Thats me riding my '89 quadracer I would have been 14 years old then. Dad bought me the Quadracer new in the summer of 1990 but it was a '89 leftover. Thats Lake Raystown in the background. We used to ride on the lake bed when the army corp would drain the lake to work on the dam and stuff. I think this was during the time they lowered the lake to firm sceens for the movie Hoffa with Jack Nicholson. A couple time I tore up the set doing donuts on it with the Qaudracer.

What the hell heres a photo of dads old ride from way back in the day.

Ahh... Now this is better.
Yes, I remember the Kenda Vipers, used them and actually liked them. And because I love the attention, here's some pics of my 1992 LT250r, again.
Latest rebuild is done, but have to pull the cylinder to ship to LRD. Oh, and the front brakes still aren't working right, forgot about that.

NO way! With the $$ time and memories with that quad, it will be buried with me. Half of my 25 broken bones over the years were on that quad, we got history!

God I love your LT!! I never get bored looking at it!!! Always motivates me to get my *** going on mine!
Posted by: fx4pitrone
Here is my 89 LT on an 87 frame.....
Posted by: LTandRaptorider
I'm likin the white plastics! You even have the stock front bumper, cool!
What all do you wanna do with your LT? Although I like all the aftermarket chit on mine, it is cool as hell seeing these old machines in stock condition.
Posted by: fx4pitrone
Thanks man... I actually have a PRM front bumper on it now.... And I think I actually just sold it yesterday.... a buddy of mine loves it and I think is buying it next week.
I have 2 more 250's and 2 500's Im working on now, so somethings gotta go (for lack of storage space!)
I am working on a 92 right now that I am doing a complete resto on ... gusseted and PC'd the frame and arms, etc. maier plastics and original camo graphics and seat... hope to have it done by winter
Thanks for the comments!
Posted by: LTandRaptorider
I didn't realize you could still get the original seat cover! I always liked that cover.
Keep us updated on the other quads you're working on. I'm of course especially interested in the work you're doing on the 92.
This weekend I will pull the cylinder off and ship to LRD for boring to the next size. My stupid fault, I honed the cylinder with too rough a stone. Put it together after my latest rebuild. Helluva time getting it to start. When it did, nice knocking noise from cylinder at lower RPMs. Little piston knock... So get that done, and figure out why the front brakes aren't working very strong, and the quad is finally done. Again!
Posted by: fx4pitrone
That sux about the cylinder....
You cant get the seat cover for that new anymore. It actually had it on it when I bought it! In decent shape, gotta try to clean it up more.... those camo seats are soooooooooo hard to find in good shape!!

Im getting a set of new reeds tommorow for mine and cutting the front plastic because there cracked from rolling it at the track. If anyone has some used a arms im looking for some to use as a template to make my own long travel arms. I made some for my 300ex but I need some for the lt and im not paying 4 to 5 hundred for some when i can easily make my own for like 50 bucks
Posted by: axellmusic19
As far as I have for now...
Posted by: thyman17
Nice green and black theme. I noticed you live not too far from me I live in northern Wisconsin. Do you ice race? I gotta get mine ready to its gonna be a great year.
Posted by: axellmusic19
Thanks! I do ride on ice as much as possible but never got into Ice racing. Do you? Have you ever been to the arkansaw cycle track off i94?
Posted by: thyman17
Yea we have a local Ice track that just about every sunday we go out and race. Last year i road a 300 ex but this year is gonna be the LT. I havent been to that track im always looking for new tracks to go to. I live pretty close to the Amsoil Sandbox Arena which is pretty fun. You can race all year long and not worry about the weather.

That sounds like a blast and the LT will be beast. I heard that sandbox arena didn't allow quads?? If they do that's great news cause I have heard of it being well maintained.
Posted by: thyman17
yea they do allow quads as long as you have nerf bars and a teather kill switch you can race there its a really nice place and the track is constanly maintained.
Posted by: axellmusic19
oh cool! I need both items then ha. The flag i sewed and thought it looked alright

haha. ya for sure. well i ride with her at my cabin near Clarion (we have alot of land there). i ride alot of the local tracks with my 450 but alot of the time im on my bike instead (rmz). but i take the 450 to SRD, Switchback and a couple private tracks too. i usually leave the 250 at my cabin because i never really hual it anywhere, just ride it trails and stuff there. its been a great quad. as i said, ive owned it for like 12 years. my parents bought it for me when i was 12.
