wats the difference between the sx and xc?
Posted by: Quadevil
There's a lot of little differences but i'm gonna put here the most relevant.
- The SX has a 4 stroke DOHC "fast revving" engine instead of SOHC in the XC.
- WP suspension in SX and Ohlins in XC.
- Wider a-arms and axle (49.8" width opposed to 46" in the XC).
- The SX is lower, lower seat, lower tank (10.3L instead of 13.4L).
- Razr MX tires with beadlocks in the rear
- Nerfs
There are more little details but these are the most important.

Quadevil pretty much stated everything. For 2010, both the XC and SX models will have WP Suspension components but the widths will remain the same. What it really comes down to is what are you going to be using the quad for? The XC model is designed to go fast in the desert, woods, etc. where you need a lot of low-end grunt out of corners and such. The width and shock setup also supports this type of riding. The SX model is strictly a motocross quad. It's low and wide and loves to be revved. It lacks some of the "torque" feel of the XC but makes up for it in the higher RPM range where it just simply takes off.
Honestly, just be realistic about your usage plans. I bought the SX when it first came out because all I was doing was MX. Now I am getting into more GP stuff (WORCS Racing) and even some desert so I have to make adaptations in the form of larger wheels and tires, higher capacity gas tank, softer suspension setup, and more.
