The 86 ATC 250R axle will fit, yes.

The 85 will not.

the 85 atc axle will fit, however, the hub spacing is wrong and it requires specific sprockets. 86 axle is the same as 86-89 trx's, so is most of rear end with 86/87, the parts will fit the swingarm on 88/89, the swingarm is different, brake stay post and bushing.
