I have been thinking about switching my LTR over to an XC and trail quad. I want to see what everyone has done to theirs to make them more XC and trail friendly.

Pro armor a-arm skids, PRM chassis and swingarm skids for protection.
ITP black baja front rims w/ a 4+1 offset to get the front to about 47" wide w/ 22" Razr 2's for clearance.
Rear 21" Kenda Knarly's on 9x8's w/ LTZ400 rear hubs to narrow up the rear too! I'll post pics when I can get them!

Well don't dawdle, get some pics up!
I'll have to take some pics of my 450 and post too. btw... Good choice on the PRM skid plate. Expensive but worth it.

Heres mine. I put on the armadillo full skid, Pro Armour rear skid. I replaced the stock steering stem with the Fuel ATV stem and anti vibe clamp. I really like the Renthal Carmichael bend bars but went with the CR High on this quad. I installed the Tusk nerfs a Gibson steering stabilizer, and took off the stock case saver and went with a K&K case saver. I put on the Yoshi slip on pipe and a CB as well as replaced the stock air filter with a UNI Filter. I installed a set of stock KFX450 tires and wheels. The fronts definately narrowed it up some and the rears just a bit. With the taller tires a smaller front sprocket was needed for sure. Thats really all I did. I put my mx tires and wheels on this and practice some then swich out with the taller tires and wheels for XC.....anyway heres mine.

great looking LTR. How do you like those Tusk nerfs. I am thinking about buying the same ones.

I like them alot especially for $200 bucks but ive gotten mixed reveiws from others on how they hold up. I havent had them too long so they dont have alot of time on them yet but....they have been through quite a bit of mx practice, one XC race and one hellacios crash.....so with all that they are still working great. They also seem to fit really well on the ltr as well. (or on mine they do)

Judging by the picture it looks like his carrier is rotated so that his axle is all the way at the top, instead of on the bottom which most people prefer for XC. As soon as I get some updated pics I'll throw some of my junk on here.

it sets at 7.5in in the front and 7 in the rear.Just because it XC doesnt mean they set like 9 or 10 inches. Thanks for the complments. I have had really good luck with mine so far. Just last week i went a OMA Nationals and was running 1st in A class til i had wheel problems. So the LTR is a good XC bike imo

Here's a pic from after my last race at the Millville MX track (D23 Harescramble)
I'm parting out the quad right now. So if you need some Rath A-arms and Fox Evol front shocks let me know. Also the Rath A-arms are custom made at 46" wide. Also had the rear shock re-vavled for XC with an XC linkage.

For some reason, I cant post pics on here. I try one at a time and it says they are too big! I have no problem on other forums... just cant get it here!!!

Try hosting your pics on a site like www.photobucket.com Upload your pics to that site and then just copy the link and paste it here.

Yep, what he said. ^^^
Or re-size your pics. I have a folder for quad pics re-sized for that purpose. Or if to lazy to re-size, email them to yourself using windows mail or outlook. You can choose what resolution when doing that, which will of course make the file smaller.

I suppose I could do that!

Good looking bikes!! I just got an LTR 450 this week. It is the first high proformance quad I have been on in twenty years. I spent several years on a '88 Honda 250R. Mostly MX with a few XCs every now and then. Mostly going to trail ride with my sons but would like to run some hare scrambles (Mid South Series) if/when I get comfortable. I may be asking a lot of questions on here....

i put my rath pegs on my the AC's because the stainless steel stays shaper longer and clean out better then the AC's did. I like how The AC doesnt connect to the rear fender also, because after you smack a tree or 2 and bend them it screws the fender up. The only reason i switched was the rath's got trashed.
