Alright I haven't had a quad in a few years, got into cars a lot. I found a blaster for 200 bucks, so i couldnt pass it up. I didn't get to talk to the previous owner, my buddy picked it up for me. The previous owner said that he rebuilt the top end a year ago, and it has been sitting 6 months, he just stopped riding it. Now it wont start, he said it would start if they pulled it, but he could never kick it to get it running. He said when he pulled it and it started, it ran like ***. What are a few things I should check first? I've never owned a 2 stroke before.

take the carb off and clean it out. If it sat that long the gas has gummed up in there and will def make it hard to start and run like crap once it does run.
