while riding the bike it just died, it didnt make any noise at all. it will turn over but it will not start. it is not my bike but any help would be good. the bike is in great condition.

Its very common for the outer flywheel hub to spin loose from the center hub and go out of time for the ignition. Remove the flywheel nut and washer . Then look straight at the end to see if the keyway is in perfect alignment with the C in the word cannondale molded into the aluminum casting on the outer hub. Takes just a couple minutes to check . A positve tip screwdriver and 17mm socket /impact are all thats needed to get it done.

you could have lost compression as well due to possible crank failure..its happend on this bikes before,a lot of them are still in great condition cosmetically because they werent run that much due to reliablity issues.My 01 fx400 still had stock tires on it when i got it.A new crank and its still running strong
