Hi I am looking for people to want to ride in Wv for some all new serious ridding on all new trails. I know an area in Mcdowell couty WV where you can ride all day long and still not see it all. For example I have done up to 60 and 90 miles easily here. This places welcome atvs and is home to some of the best techinical trailsthat I have seen here. They are well ridden and can range in difficlulty on them. This place you can camp get gas right in the middle of the woods and also get food cooked for you by a restaruant in the woods also.
If anyone would like to know more about this or would like to meet to go and ride you can e-mail at charlieward241@hotmail.com

THIS IS NO JOKE I have been there numerous times over the summer. And fact there was a group of forty people from around my area that went there last week. THIS PLACE IS CALLED PINNACLE CREEK WV. Actually they have 3 campgrounds for tents or campers plus 3 places for gas plus a few other places to get gas and also 3 places to even get fresh cooked food NO LIE
Trust me when I say this is some of the best ridding that have been on WV even so because Ilive here in WV so I have been on numerous trails. That is what everyone from around here call it. This place is so nice that during the summer they even have sponsered pokers and huge pig roats going on.

Does this place have a webpage?
Posted by: charlie99
I am not real sure I haven,t been able to find it. Most people hear from others and just go there. There is a phone number for one of the resturants and camping areas that I can get but it wont be till tomorrow.

the area itself dont have a webpage but some of the outpost do.I dont know what they are but ill try to find out. There is burke mtn and hilltop and the outpost and the wagonwheel(only one with gas i think)one or two other places that cater to atv's in that area.It is a great place and most of all its free!Hilltop is on a donation basis for camping and they just opened a grill this summer.burke has a few camper spots with elect.and water.Only one thing. This lace is freekin huge!and its really best to try to hook up with a local to show ya around.Or you may just end up riding all the minning roads, which are fun but get old fast.Theres a lil everything there really.heres a pic of the stairsteps
Posted by: luvmyex
one of the jumps at the bottom of the stairsteps.

I have about ten riders that would be very interested in going !!! Any idea how far this is from the N. VA area ?
Posted by: luvmyex
Its just north of Bluefield Wva on hwy 52.Actually on the way to H/M trails.Only closer for me! Its only about 30 mins from I-77.
Posted by: charlie99
You couldn't do any better on the pictures the climb is one the the most popular places there. I spent most of the summer down there and you can get gas at the outpost, the wagon wheel, and a new place up on top of the strip. You can actually put in at three easy places from Princton which is acutlly a few minutes from Bluefield. Also you can take your truck right down in there. If anyone is planning a ride soon let me know I would truley like to ride with you all. Or I could guide because I know how to get there and know a good majority of the trails there.

I'm going to be doing some riding at the wagon wheel when the weather clears up. I have some friends from Beckley and back home in Oceana that ride there. :devil
Posted by: jay's 300
When do you think you all will be going back or just riding anywhere. I'd be interested in hooking up w/ your crew!
Posted by: 0240099r1
for me spring time since your from up there can you give the others some good directions up there i don't know the road names or #'s past bluefield i can only take you but i will try to map it out for ya....later
Posted by: charlie99
Hey jay's 300 I live in Beckley also let me know when you plan to ride anytime soon. I ride anytime. We should hook up one day and ride local or even better and hit the wagon wheel.
Posted by: jay's 300
I mainly just ride the weekends, cause of work. I would like to find more places around here to ride and I'm definately interested in hitting the wagon wheel!
Posted by: charlie99
Weekends are always good with me I am also off every weekend. Have you been on any of the local tails around Beckley if such as Garden Grounds and Mackeny as called I know all of the tails. I would like to ride some time real soon. I have been deprived from ridding here lately due to brakedowns
on old 400 it should be up and running by Friday.

were's this wagon wheel located in reference to I-19 that runs from I-64 in charlston?????
Posted by: charlie99
the best place i could tell you where the wagon wheel also known as Pinacle Creek is take I 77 south i think. You can either get off at Princeton which is just south of Charleston or also you can get off at Bluefield which is south of Princeton a little ways. I live in Beckley which is just south of Charleston before Princeton. I could be at the wagon wheel also called Pinacle Creek in just under 1 hour by I shorter way I know.

pm'ed ya
Posted by: jay's 300
you could get off of I-77 south in Beckley at the Harper Rd. exit, then take a right, follow Rt. 3 to Rt. 99 (straight shot) to Rt. 85, turn left onto Rt. 85, follow that into Oceana, then go left onto Rt. 10, follow that into Pineville, then get more specific directions to the Wagon Wheel!
Posted by: charlie99
Hey jay's 300 that is a good short route I have never been that way. But have you went the other way by going though Mullins and Parking at Herden which is little ways past Mullins. Where you park at it is a 10 to 15 minute ride strait to wagon wheel.
Posted by: jay's 300
Yeah, me and a buddy was talking last night and he mentioned that, but I couldn't remeber the route numbers. I think it's Rt. 16 staight into Mullens, from Robert C. Byrd Dr. Then from there I'm not sure. :blah but I'm interested in checking it out as soon as we get some decent weather.

Well boys how's about gettin some good directions to this place next time you go to it. I'm not gonna drag 60+ riders on a wild goose chase to find this place when time comes around for our annual rides.. Looks like we'll be tearin up rockhouse and bear waller...:blah Until further notice.. any input would be great...
Posted by: brokeitin3
is way further out in the sticks then beer waller and rockhouse, beckly wv is way up in the mountains. if you wanna get a ride together to go this summer better do it in the spring. the whitewater rafting there is some of the best in the eastern us and i would kill for the chance to throw you off of a raft.:devil
Posted by: charlie99
Hey Rico let me know if you and a few others want to come up any time soon and ride. I try to get you some other dirctions also. I could take you there and show you the fastest route because sometimes it is hard to get good directions. Once you start getting down that way it is really in the middle of the sticks.
Also jays 300 my 400 should be up and running by this weekend lets try to plan a ride within the next week or two.
Posted by: jay's 300
It's not that hard to get to the Wagon Wheel once you get to beckley, just let one of us know and we'll get you better directions!
Charlie: Sounds good to me I'm up for new places to ride anytime!
Check your pm's!

hey fellas, i've been riding the h/m trails here in charleston all last year. getting kinda bored with em. i want to try out something new and those trails down there outside of beckley sound pretty awesome. what's the best route to get there, i-77 south to harper road exit or some other way? thanks.
Posted by: jay's 300
Either Harper Rd. or Robert C. Byrd Dr. (towards Sophia, then take Rt. 16 to Rt. 10, staright into Pineville- probably the easiest if your not familiar w/ the area) from Pineville you can get exact directions, or you can let us know in advance and we could meet you in Beckley and go down!

This will put you on the wagon wheel web site, I would recommend getting a guide to any group that has not ridden the trail system, you can do 100 or more mile and not see the same area, a local guide will keep you from getting lost and plan a ride with gas and good lunch stops, a guide can be found by contacting the wagon wheel.
This has got to be the best ridding area in the country, would recomend it to anyone.
It does not have the same restrictions as Hatfield-Mac trail system, please be courtious to other riders and the folks who live there, lets keep this gold mine open to all riders. Go and enjoy!
