You are crazy if you think a stock raptor will do 85. My dad has one and I know for a fact it doesn't go that fast. They just did a review in dirt wheels a couple of months ago and it was in the mid 70's.

The Raptor 700 has a top speed limiter on it. It will not exceed 75 mph in stock form.

You are an idiot. Have you ever rode a raptor. My dad has one and my yfz smokes it and I know my yfz doesn't do anywhere close to 85 topped out. And both of our bikes have the same mods. Pipe, filter and rejetted, he has a programmer. Do some research before you spew anymore ridiculous crap out your mouth.

Well first off I don't know what you are talking about. cm3? It's cc's. Maybe you should have a clue what you are talking about before you say something. Do you even ride. I doubt it. I have access to both bikes and I'm telling you straight up that the raptor will not do 85 stock. Now if you change the gearing that's a different story. Most newer 4 strokes will do 85 if you regear.

alright, alright now ur takin it too far, i kno for a fact that a raptor 700 will not do 90 stock, more like 75-79 change out the sprockets and maybe you will get it up to 85. And to borgoleo dont say little 450 because its been proven and proven time again that the yfz is faster stock for stock with 2 riders of the same skill level and dont try to prove a point off of what you would think is common sense, no 250 more ccs does not mean its going to be faster especially when the 450 is 50lbs lighter, revs 2500 rpms higher and revs twice as fast, therefore giving it a much better power to weight ratio, and no my opinion is not biased because i own a 450 im a modest guy and i tell the truth. And to yfzrider690 dont try and make him look like an idiot, hes from argentina and thats probably what they call ccs over there, every country is different. Maybe you should read the post and understand it before you quote. I said my bike is rejetted and he has a programmer. No where in the paragraph did I say that his bike was rejetted. And I guarantee your buddies bike did no where close to 90 with stock gearing. And 88 with a person on the back, give me a break.

the yfz450 is a race quad....its bound to be faster than the 700r... the 450 hasnt got reverse...its also lighter

See that's your problem is that you think to much and don't actually know. Look it up, both the raptor and the yfz put out right around 40hp stock, give or take a couple depending on the dyno. And no the raptor is not a race atv, that's why they make the yfz.

ok they have a law that an stock atv cant go over 80. or the atvs companies would be making them a lot faster stock. not saying a dirtbike they aloud to go well over 80 like the crf450 for example does much more then 80.but ant atv is not aloud over 80. so a raptor will not do more then 76 my freind has one and my other friend has a yfz and they pretty neck and neck.

The raptor is considered a sport quad. The yfz is yamaha's race bike that's why the suspension is better and they sit lower. Go to the races and see how many raptors there are. I will bet you anything you see more yfz's than raptors.

me and friend lined up my Z his Raptor and another friends car i got to 73mph he got 75mph on flat road no down hill just flat theres no way it can hit 80 without larger tires in rear like 22in and changing the sprockets ,then you would hit 80-90mph depending how large the front is and how small the rear is to hit that speed Im guessing 15 front 37 ,90mph would be 15 /36 guessing with 22in rears .tires and sprocket,rev-limiter are the only way to change top speed.

LOL, this is some of the most rediculous crap I've ever read. There are a few guys here with some sense in thier head. The stock 700r will NOT do 90 or 85. My friends yfz walked past my other friends 700r, both in stock form right in front of my eyes. I have a 700xx, those top at 80 in stock form and I know they're faster than the 700r on the top end, assuming both are in stock form. How do I know this? What are my crudentials? I ride with a yfz, built rappy 660r, stock 700r and fully built 700r. I've raced them and I know what they can do. My video where I race the 700r I simply let off after I slapped the gas tank into my chest, my fault for the horrible launch. Check out my page, you'll see the results...

You're raptor isn't hitting 85 with stock gearing. There is no way. I had one before I got my yfz and my yfz walked all over my 660. If you are running bigger tires and taller gears than I would believe you, but with stock gears and 20 inch tires there's no way.

Just seems to me that some of you need to grow up and stop getting pissed off because someone can get alittle more top speed out of a bike than you can. The gears are aftermarket and im running 12's. Not forsure what gears yet i just got the bike yet and havent had a chance to tear into the gear case.

That is funny. I'm not talking about the gears in the tranny, I'm talking about your sprockets. It would have to be geared up a couple teeth on the rear or front to get that high of a speed. With stock gears you could probably get low to mid 70's and that's it.

Actually they are called sprockets. But most people when they talk about changing the sprockets they say they are gonna gear it down or up. I never heard it called a chainwheel before. That is a new term to me. I have been riding for 26 years and never heard that.

How about some facts... I have a Trail Tech dash on my 06 Raptor 700 that will read mph and I have compared it with my buddies truck and we were within one mph about 70 so its pretty close...

Stock they have a sensor so in 5th gear at a certain rpm is starts to slowly retard your timing so it wont pull, most guys I have talked to (forums) claim 72-74mph stock form... Pull the speed limiter and I have heard of a 3-4mph gain in stock form (stock sprockets/tires)

I put a 15t front sprocket on and havent bypassed the speed limiter and my dash and buddies truck read 78-79mph with 20" Razr2 rear tires, I wasnt to the redline yet but it was all I wanted to push my motor (slightly built)

like the trx guy said early no raptor or any other quad for the matter is going over 79 mph its the law the manufactor will not allow the quads to go over 80 anyone that says they are is just lying to you. it doesnt take much to get a 700r over 80 but with the stock rev limiter its just not going to do it thats why they put it there call yamaha.

even on a hill, there is no production bike that will reach those speeds due to the rev limiter/rev box/cdi whatever you decide to call it to try and prove me wrong. i built a hybrid with an xr650r and it will reach those speeds but i have the cdi directly from honda that they put on their baja xr's. and my rear sprocket is dropped 10 teeth. without aftermarket cdi and gearing coupled with the power, you will NEVER reach those speeds. period

The 700 has a speed sensor on it that won't let it go over 75mph. Its retards the timing at 5500rpm and up. Ground the blue wire coming fom the ECU to to the speed sensor and you'll pick up around 6-8 mph.

I got my daughters PW50 up to 88 mph with some slight tweaking of the karooder valve. So a Raptor has 650 cc's more than the PW does. I'm guessin a Raptor can hit about Mach 4 at least

haha this is awesome sounds like me and my brother fightin he has 700raptor i have honda 250r with some mods his is nice mine will be before i broke my clutch pin housing {put a hole in the left case} i could keep up with him who got the hole shot would determine who won the race when he YES he puts mine back together haha i should smoke him displacing 285 or so ccs and 110 octane as far as fighting goes he got right pissed off at me when i broke mine because we couldnt compete against each other so the point is everyone is amazing listening to you fight is hilarious so keep it up and just to add fuel to the fire hehe the kxf 450 spanked the yzf450 {both carburated} in a race put on by no other atvrider magazine ha oh ya the silly speed thing stock 75 tops

theres no point in fight this page is made for helping and talking about your atvs.if you know anything about atvs you know there is a law about making them go over 79mph STOCK! so we tired helping them and tell them theres no way it goes over 79mph. so if they dont listen then idk why they even bother even being on here cause they think there right and if there always right you dont need no ones help. so if you think in your head you stock atv go over 79mph fine think that way... but just stay in your dream world and keep your dream world to your self cause for the people that know atv stuff we dont want to hear your dreams about your atv.
