I have an 85 Quadracer and for some reason I can only use neutral and 2nd gear. It wont shift into any other gear. My only idea is to split the case and see whats wrong, but I just wanted to ask for any other advice before I went ahead and did that. Any replys are appreciated. Thanks.

make sure you have all the gaskets you need, and extra. when ever i took my 230 apart, my stepp dad forgot to get gasket and just used silicone. dont do it. oil blows all over the place. you also may want to pick up a clymer manual. it tells you how to take the engine apart, and the right torqued wrench preasure.
