Are you sure about this? Maybe you didnt see everything at Sarco.

Posted by: optikid123

come to think of it sarco prob has more area but gliddens has more like areas and huge hills plus big open straightaways

but now that i think of it sarco is prob bigger

nononono, not happening, period the end. i refuse to go to illegal places. i only mentioned gliddens due to how popular it is and as a reference to where i live. i ride only on my practice track, the trails in the back of my house, and NJORVP. sorry, but with my luck 5 min after i go to gliddens a cop will show up next to me. sorry to ruin your fun, i've heard many great things about gliddens and i've seen it in person (not riding, i occasionally head to the Pine Barrens Golf Course, literally right next to it) and it looks sweet, but until the day it turns legal, the answer is no.

by the way, do you really own the farm in huevos grandes? if it still looks anything like it did back then we should meet up, either at your house, my house (my track sucks though, the only cool part about the trails is the mudbog section i have right now, plus nobody complains about riding there) or chatsworth.

Posted by: optikid123

o yea thats our track its better then it was in huevos a lot bigger jumps we prob has 3 60ft+ jumps and lots of new stuff mainly nikes are on it so its pretty hard on a quad

i think i may have to have a ride there over the summer

Posted by: optikid123

and you would be alright at gliddens just keep moving at all times and dont get off your bike. then always have alternate escape routes we saw a cop in stavolas the other day and just booked it but its a shame to not ride in there if your so close

Posted by: ryanh250ex

my dad refuses to take me there, he's more than aware of the consequences of illegal riding. i'd rather set a good example for future riders.

if you had a ride at your track i'd be the first one to sign up, but judging by the jumps that were in Huevos i think works shocks would be a must.

eh......you know, i'm not really sure. they are tight and flat, and they aren't anything compared to the NJORVP trails. there are two main trails, and a bunch more that aren't as worn in or as clear-cut. i do know that one trail leads to a junkyard in the forest, something i've refused to pass by, another leads to a wide open field and if you go towards the road you end up on County Line Road. also, there is a big creek that looks pretty cool to ride in with alot of rain. i occasionally hear quads and bikes rippin' it up nearby but i'm not really sure where they're coming from. i know they dont go into the forest behind my house through the same entrance as mine, but either they're going into it from the other end of it or they're in a forest located off of Harmony Road. not this weekend (gotta cram for midterms in school), but next weekend, i'll either take my quad if i get it back from the shop by then or go by foot into the trails and try to give you some more info. i could also try looking it up on a map.

i took some pictures of it last week. i'll take some more maybe this afternoon to give you a little idea of what it's like. like i said, it's no XC course, but when i have some free time, i dont have work to take care of, and my dad isn't around to take me to chats, i ride the track and trails at my house.it's alot of fun and like chatsworth it's legal (even though i do have a disgruntled neighbor who almost ran me over with his F-150 because my practice track was overlapping his land by 10 feet), so there's no need to worry about tickets and stuff. if you ever come over, i'd recommmend you come spark arrested (i'm under the assumption you race, since you have a 440) and with a quiet core, because despite the land i have, it is still a residential area.

later

my house is near Challenger Way (dirt road, off of Hyson Rd.) if you go to the very end of that road you can see my house, i own the basin in front of that road.

as a real estate broker's kid, i know all too well about the developers. my dad practically makes a living off of them. but it's a fact that housing in suburban NJ is in very great demand. a house just down the street that is a carbon copy of mine (only difference between them is that my house has lighter cabinets and hardwood flooring) sold for 50% more than for what my family paid for my house. and we moved in here 18 months ago.i don't know many developers that wouldn't wanna get a piece of that 250 g's paid extra for the same house being sold not even 2 years later. the prices are insanely high, yet people are still living the high life and paying cold, hard cash for them.

my dad tells me tales all the time about him and his 5 brothers and their friends riding on dirtbikes through trails scattered across New Egypt and Jackson. while those trails exist even today, i find it amazing how the attitude of ORV use on those trails has differed in only 20 years.

Posted by: quadfamily

Hey guys,
I was on my way home from visiting my friends mom in the hospital in I think West Orange (One of the Oranges) today and I was on the Turnpike. I was heading South and on my right hand side (South bound side) there was a motocross track right there next to the Turnpike plain as day. It looked pretty nice. Had a pretty big tabletop, and a bunch of other jumps. It looked like a pretty nice well taken care of track. Very close to it, like right next to it, was a good size lake or very large detention basin. Then after it was industrial looking warehouses. As soon as I passed by the track I saw a sign for exit 8A. Does anybody here know about this track or ride there? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed it because it's really hard to miss!

Posted by: propartsracing

We live in good ole NJ. Central. We go to all the GNCC races & D-6/PA State Harescramble races. Looking forward to going to the D-2 races this year too as long as they don't conflict w/ a D-6 event.

Trish

Thats so true and couldnt agree more.

Its too bad how so many things have changed for the worse, and so confusing how many people are willing to pay big money for houses built on land that was so popular for illegal dumping.

Oh well.

Posted by: deathman53

I always ride there in the spot next to the turnpike. I haven't been there is a few months, I hear the cops have been bad and bikes been down. Those trails go through jamesburg, helmetta, and east brunswick. The track isn't very maintained, its on private property owned by the turnpike and there is many trespassing signs. Its a cool place to ride, but muddy, except during the summer. There is a ton of trails there and your firt time through you are sure to get lost.

Posted by: deathman53

just reading over the post again and I am almost sure what you are talking about, it is on the south bound side of the pike just before 8a. There are two places that are very simailar, the place I mentioned first is if you drive south, it is right by one of the signs for the rest stop, you will see a trail going along the pike. that trail brings you to a pit we call "the turnpike". We follow a series of trails through helmetta, cross cranbury rd, go though some more trails, right next to a warehouse and follow the trail along the fence and there is a tunnel that goes under the pike(stay to right at the end, very important), follow some more trails and it takes you to the pit we call "the turnpike". there is a small track there, not very big, not maintained and you have to watch out of game wardens(every so often they bust balls for people fishing in the lake with licences). I don't know how to get to the place that is clear as day on the pike, but from what I hear, it is a place where a compny trains people to use backhoes and such. They always call the cops and chase you out, and the fines are big.

Posted by: quadfamily

I know the place you're talking about where they have training for heavy earth moving equiptment such as back hoes and bigger equiptment. That's not the place I was talking about. I probably wouldn't ever try to ride there because it's obviously not a place the owner would want people riding. Does the spot you're talking about have the lake right by it?

Posted by: 400exRacerX

Jefferson, Morris county, NJ

Posted by: deathman53

there is a lake there, I always ride over there. Its cool, but being almost the only place I ride, besdies a crappy pit in englishtown, it gets old. the major problem there is you need to find a place to park. I park at a friends house near there. Or I ride my street legal dirtbike a few miles from home,(this way I don't have to worry about parking). Now my dirtbike and trike are down, and a am finishing breaking in my 250r. Do you live near there?

Posted by: quadfamily

deathman, I replied to this earlier in the day but I guess with the server problems it got lost? I live just off of exit 7A. Only a few minutes from the exit. I'm always looking for new places to ride that are not too far away. We mostly ride at our place and the surrounding area which is pretty limited. So I know what you mean by "getting old". We should all hook up and ride somewhere.
That pit in Jefferson looks pretty nice. Where exactly is Jefferson 400EXRacerX?
Trish, where do you live in Central Jersey? I'm about as central as you can get. Look for Robbinsville on the map you'll see what I mean.
I'd like to get together with some of you when it's not so cold and check out some RR lines and power lines if possible. Maybe that spot in Jefferson too?

Posted by: deathman53

quadfamily, I might go riding on saturday if its not real cold. Still breaking in the r, so I gotta take it easy. give me your email and I'll send you a few pics of the trails there, I don't think I have any of the pit.

hey Deathman, where are those pictures? I saw another spot the other day in Dayton. It's right on rt 130North just before the railroad overpass. Looks like a huge pit almost but it's probably grassy. I see some trails in teh snow although my pictures don't show them. The "pit" is adjacent to the tracks and rt 130.

Posted by: 400exrider400ex

hey
has anyone heard anything about sussex motorsports
do u still need a parking pass to park there...is it infested with cops now

Posted by: James70214

You never needed a parking pass to park behind Sussex Motorsports. But now you can't park there. I live right by the trails and there are not any cops at all.

Posted by: 400exrider400ex

at the end of the last season for a little while you had to get a parking pass from the owner in order to park there and put it in your window but idk about that anymore

Posted by: deathman53

never saw that pit. I'll go there this week and check it out. where was that pic taken, I know of one sopt that could look like that. I got chased out of the local pit today and went over the helmetta to ride, but its bad there. Not even the local will ride there now. The spots I park there there a big piles of dirt, chain, etc. Also nobody is riding out there today(which is rare for at nice day) the only person I saw was a person on a mountain bike. It looks like its gonna be awhile before I go near that pit off of the turnpike. Next weekend, I thinking clayton, I got some good pics of the place, if you want them email me, deathman53@hotmail.com.

Posted by: quadfamily

that place is on the right if you're heading North through Dayton on 130. It's just after a pharmaceutical building which they are doing some kind of construction on. Then there's another building then the pit as you're going up an incline which goes over some RR tracks. As You're going up the hill you can see it real good. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Posted by: 400exRacerX

Are you talking about the pit that I posted a pic of??

Posted by: quadfamily

I don't think so 400exRacerX, Read my post on the last page. That's the one I'm talking about at least. The one you posted a picture of looks pretty cool.

Posted by: jeepinjp

yes, one of the two partners died while doing ruotine maintanence on the track, somehow he must have gotten off camber with the tractor while dragging the track and the tractor rolled and he got pinned under it !!!!!!!!!!! thats the way he was found.................the track is still operating

It's in Woodbine, NJ. Dennis Twp. I beleive in Cape May County. It's about 15 miles North of Wildwood.

Posted by: BROKENBOY500000

NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFOR NOW HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN THERE

Posted by: quadfamily

I think it opened at the beginning of this year.

Posted by: deathman53

thats cool to hear about another place opening up in jersey. From what I was told, by my friend who got stopped by a ranger, new jersey will be opening up wma's for atv use, you will need to have reg/ins and display your license plate # on the bike. I was just at englishtown today with my trike, I managed to ride most of the day before a bolt snapped and crewed up the flywheel on my r. Oh-well I got a few flywheels around, I just hope it didn't take out the stator as I the extra one I have is in not too good of shape. hope to see more trikes around, I don't want to be the only person on one.

Posted by: BROKENBOY500000

thats why i have the four wheel kit on my 250r

Posted by: quadfamily

Hey Deathman,
This could be a dumb question but what's a "wma" ?

Posted by: deathman53

wma is short for wildlife management area. I'm getting a cr ignition for my r tomorrow, my attiude is when you break something replace it with a higher qualitly, more performance oriented part. anybody got a trike number plate for sale?

Posted by: quadfamily

OK, I asked a guy I know about that tonight. He works for the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and he sits on the board that is in charge of creating these new legal riding areas. He said no way will the state ever allow ATV's to ride in the WMA's. He said the only vehicles which are going to be allowed are road legal ones like Jeeps and such. He said what I heard is probably just a rumor. I was bummed! Where did you get this info from?

I heard this from my friend who got stopped in Colliers Mill. The guy didn't say anything to him about riding a atv, he only thing that happened is he got a ticket for no registration(he had insurance) a $75 fine. the other guys he was with none of them had ins or reg. and they were told if he wanted to be a prick he could have wrote them tickets up to $1000, but they were nice and didn't run, so he gave them a break. It would be cool if they did open them up to atv's, as you can ride dirtbikes there only if you have all the tags(plate, inspection sticker, reg., ins.)

To all you guys in the Camden county s.jersey area I know of a couple sweet spots to ride. One spot stretches from blackwood to Sicklerville & goes along the high tension wires. The other spot is called tri-boro, over by Berlin & Voorhees. This place is great if you like hill climbing, its a huge quarry with sand hills & a couple peeble hills. I'm lookin for more people to ride with so let me know if u wanna check em' out. -Dave

Posted by: jeepinjp

Posted by: only_banshees

What about the old stafford dump or even sarco* they cant build on all of it.

Posted by: 2001400ex

With around 30 people meeting at the Pathmark, someone is going to call the cops, I've heard alot of stories from my friends about how there is even cops on other quads like blasters, and stuff pretending to be broke down, then when a fellow rider goes to help them they get their bike impounded, if you guys are going to set up a huge meet. Be somewhat stealthy about it. What weekend are you going, maybe my dad and I will go. If I haven't already missed it!

Posted by: CowsBitePeople

usually when i go out to pathmark i break down when im on my yz250 its white if you see me help!! i had to push it back from there 2 times so far and it sucked took me 6 and a half hours

Posted by: jeepinjp

Posted by: 2001400ex

If I ever see a YZ broken down I'll give ya some help. Return the favor if anything should happen to me! 01 400EX, Holeshot tires, HMF Exhaust, PRM Brushguard!

Posted by: CowsBitePeople

i break down on my quad also there like once my sprocket snapped in half and once my rim bent sooo bad it wouldnt turn from bringin a wheelie down on a rock its a 2000 red with a raptor hood and all that good stuff down derr

Posted by: 2001400ex

If I ever see you on that too in need of help I'll stop. If people are riding I'll probably talk to them too, I just will be weary of people broken down. WATCH OUT for girl riders too! Yes they have an undercover cop that poses as being broken down, and then impounds you for riding there. I think people that ride behind Pathmark need to think of something to put on their quads/dirtbikes that the cops won't put on theirs. Also anyone that rides behind Pathmark; WATCH OUT for branches in the trails, and fishing line. I heard a story once about how some guy was riding on the tracks and his head got cut off because some icehole put up some fishing line there

Posted by: CowsBitePeople

what town u from anyways? we hould go riding sometime

I've been riding by the tracks at Pathmark 2 times. Its a cool spot,I've never seen cops there. There were guys pulling their bikes right behind the store and walking into the store with riding gear on. The trails on the way out to PA are awesome but really whoopy, but an awesome ride none the less.

I go riding at this place in Florence NJ. It is directly under the turnpike bridge that goes over the Delaware river. If you can find a place called Griffinth Pipe Co, its directly across from the plant. They have about 250-300 acres with trails that extend far beyond that. It has a large sand pit and tons of wooded trails. It even had a drag strip that rides between farm fields

Posted by: quadfamily

Where do you park Derek? And is it safe there? How many times have you been there and were there ever cops?

Posted by: derekh1234

ive been riding there for about 2 years. I go there about 2 times a month during the warmer weather. I park deep inside the riding area. If you can find griffinth pipe co. main entrance, follow that road towards the del river, and about 1500-2000 ft you will see a dirt road on the left hand side, There is a monster puddle there, its hard to miss, and if ya dont have a truck, make shure it hasent raind for a while or your car will stall. Follow the dirt road for about 1500ft. You will see atv tracks and trails everywhere. after 1500 ft or so you will see an opening on your left, pull in and your in the main sand pit area, thats where everybody parks. As for cops, people have been riding back there for about 30 yearsand the cops have lookd the other way for the longest time but about 18months ago some looser fell and broke his back, sued griffinth pipe and they had no choice but to crack down. 5-8 people were given trespassing tickets and had to clean up trash. but things are back to the norm now. I just hope that there is not a repeat injury/lawsuit cause that place is awesome, there are trails that extend back for miles and miles and you eventually run into a freight train track, which just leads you to even more trails. Once the weather warms up im gonna start going back there, but is always a smart idea to scout the area the day before to see if its hot again cause ya never know

I've learned that places can also get sued by an injury victim's health insurance company. Aparently, when you let your heath care provider cover your medical bills, you also allow them to sue on your behalf so they can try and recover some of the expenses.

This is why NJ needs to pass the limited liability bill and make these blood-sucking lawsuits disappear forever.

Posted by: Mean250r

monmouth county for me, aka central

Posted by: smi2710

live in sussex, NJ and we ride all over the area but mostly behind the old "phillys fun farm restaurant"
