I have a 02 250ex.It does not want to go back to neutrel from 1st and rev. There is a lot of force needed to get it to neutral.Tried to ajust the clutch and idle.No help.Could the centrifital clutch be bad? Thanks.

Will it shift with the engine off?

Yes it shifts when engine is off.It also shifts to neutral when you are rolling slow. Thanks for the reply.

If it shifts ok with the engine off, then the engine idle is to high or because of some problem like weak springs, the clutch thinks the idle speed is to high. I have not experienced this with my 2002 ex. Good Luck

Thanks for the reply.I will try to turn the idle down a little more. But I think you may be right.I have never had one of these apart before.I might have to get a shop manual. Thanks again.
