the previous owner of my 99 300ex busted the hood beyond repair. the 450r hoods are cheeper and easier to find. i think they look cool on stock plastics.

here are the steps

-get 450r hood, mine was 27 bucks shipped from ebay new
-remove 300ex stock hood(you wont need the little support thing that is on a stock hood or any of the mounting brackets)
-cut 4 small notches for the 450r hood to clip into.(you will se when you get the hood) and there not visible so if you ever want to go back to stock you can
- connect the back of the 450r hood to the tank cover thing( i drilled a little hole and used a zip tie)
- you can mess around with everything to get the exact look you want.
- i hear a heat gun will help for fitting but i didnt use one

its an easy mod. im 18 and i dont know much about quads and i did it myself in about 20 mins.

calvin, if you continue to mod your toys you are going to find yourself spending time and money for a long time on stuff that already works fine.

im not going to lie i think all the 450 hoods look stupid on a 300, there just not ment to be put on a 300. The best looking is the 400 add 250r hoods

I take it to extreme at times and remove perfectly fine stuff just to change it, make it mine. That is all that I meant.

kdigginz, i love the 250r hoods on 300ex's but a 250r hood, especially an aftermarket hood like the one in your pic, is out of my price range right now. and thats a mean lookin bike, if thats yours im very jealous
