250R axle on 400EX and VIse Versa?

Is is possible for a 400EX axle OR even the whole rear end (swinger and back) to bolt onto a TRX250R (86-89)?

I ran a 250R axle on my 400ex a while back..U just need 250R hubs and axle and it works

250r and 400ex axles will interchange if you if you use the correct hubs. The swingarms will not interchange.

What about the rear brake system? I thought the "R" has better clearence with there disk in the back.

Maybe I shouldve been more clear. Im -building- my fully custom ATC250R . it will have either an 86 ATC rear end OR the 86-89 TRX R rear end (They are the same with minute changes but will botl right up). I was hoping to run the 400EX axle, with the 250R hubs, swingarm, and brake and sprocket items.....The 400EX has single piston brakes, wherea the R has dual piston. Duals the way to go.

Can we be more clear here? Everyone was jsut saying YES........as well as you........and now you say NO.......whats up?....

Are you stating I cannot use R hubs ON a 400EX axle? I was aware of that....but I can jsut use 400EX rear hubs, maybe 300EX ones? I know atc350X rear hubs will work...

ok, the r and 400 hubs are differnt. but u can put an r axle in a 400 as long as u use r hubs and vise versa.

basically just do whatever one is cheaper, then buy the hubs for which veer axle you buy

The main concerns are i want a NEW axle and not a beat ol trx R or ATC axle so I really feel like the EX oens the way to go, ya know what i mean? I was just wondering abotu those differances though.
