Problem with 400ex Swingarm

Well, i was checkin up on my quad today and i noticed a small round spring that is coming out of the left side of the swingarm where the axle goes into. Does this spring have any importance? Or did it get jammed in there some how? Thanks.

Sounds to me like you need a new axle seal. It's pobably the spring that is in the seal.

there only a couple bucks , i'd check honda of troy i KNOW they got em..
