"Knight Rider" light on Viper 90

Our 2007 E-Ton Viper 90 has the "Knight Rider" light on the front and has functioned properly for the last year. Just recently we noticed that the light has been on when the key is off and out of the bike??? The light switch is off but it doesn't control that light and the battery is fully charged (just rode it). Is this an oddity or a sign of something else??? Right now we have unplugged the light so to not run the battery down. Owners manual is no use for this.

It's should cut off with the key,sound like the ignition switch is bad "where the key goes"
