question for Southeastern riders

I just bought a KFX450R and am getting back into ATV riding after a 5 year hiatus. I now live in Atlanta, GA and have noticed the red clay stains everything and gets really hard to remove from small crevices (like in the engine and brakes).
My question is what products or methods do you use to keep mud from setting on the metal componentry? I have heard coating it in WD40 after it is cool helps keep mud from adhering when you ride, but I wondered what other methods work that you may have found through trial and error. THX!

Use "PAM" spray cooking oil works better than wd40..
