I am looking for some unbiased adault facts on which 250 to buy my son. I am looking for a used LTZ or EX 250. They both seem to be comparable and close in price range. He just needs a reliable trail quad...no racing or massive MX jumps. Is there any particulare advantages of one over the other that I might need to know. I dont care if one does 47mph and the other can hit 50 mph. Im looking for handling, ease of maintenance and design flaws.

i have a 250ex and like it. its too stiff stock. but is reliable as any bike made. i test rode a z250 and it handles nice but i like the torque of the 250ex motor better. plus i like honda stuff.

Well I went ahead and found two great deals...one of each! I got a 2005 LTZ with very low hours Yosh pipe DG nerfs and bumpers, holeshot tires and a couple other goodies for $1500 themn I got a 2006 Honda 250ex for $2000 with only about 6 hours on it but no mods. I guess for what I have into these so far I dont care what the differences are anymore I scored some good deals for the boys. Im ordering the Diamod J widening kits today. Im looking for 450r shocks now.

you guys will like the 06 honda becuase of the sport clutch and it will teach your boy to use a clutch better than a full manual could teach him

and those thing will last FOREVER.
