Not much that you have to do to these lil bikes. Changed suspension, pipe, motor mods, carb, bars, and took the crappy heel guards off and this is the way she sits now. Had to make most of these changes for him to be competitive against the other race bikes. I also added a 400ex throttle because it's alot easier on him thumb.

Here is my son's Typhoon. Stock it was descent but with suspension and a good motor its competitive with some 2 strokes. One of the first mods that makes a huge difference is a steering damper. These quads have bad bump steer that can really tire a kid out.

That's awsome! My sons bike pulls with the 2 strokes but him having to shift off the start kills him. I don't hear your boy shifting at all. Details man!!!
Posted by: 190banshee
His bike is a manual shift. He starts in second gear and never gets past third. I don't think he has ever shifted into fourth. We have a 15T front and 39T rear, with that combo second gear goes a long way. A lightened flywheel doesn't hurt eigher. Second gear start is really the key. Even with 2.6 gearing first gear is too low for starts, can't keep the front end on the ground.
Sorry about the tiny picture, not sure what happened there.

Ohh that explains it. Nice to see it pull so strong. The track my sons races on is wayyy to big to do that with. The 450's run up to 4th gear and even 5th in one section.

Josh's EXTREME 125 ... I bought it the other day for $400.00 ... It's fast in stock trim ... I like it and love the performance ... My 7 year old thinks it's the schnizit ... How dependable / reliable are they ???
Posted by: Ride1Rob
They're some very good bikes. The only thing owners have been having problems out of is the cranks snapping. Seems to be too much weight applied from the flywheel and the centrifugal clutch on the other side. It took a year and a half for my boys to finally do it. Let him ride it until it breaks and then drop a manual clutch in it for around $350 or get the direct drive setup.

Posted by: extremeisaac
all your xtremes are setup like that? You guys never go out and trail ride.. or ride a mx track?
Posted by: 91gtig60
thats the same thing my son said when he seen pic and videos. he said dad, is that all they do is go in circles inside a barn, no jumps or whoops?? lolquote:

Flat track is awesome!!! I ride mx but I love to watch flat track racing of anykind. I got to believe if you were in a pack in a grand national flattrack race, you probably wouldn't think "all I got to do is go round in a circle". Granted, there won't be any heart stopping tripples or step-ups, but handlebar banging wide open has got to be a rush. First person I ever saw killed was on a bike in a Flat track race. There is danger and excitement anytime you mix horsepower and competition, but it comes down to what you are into. Cade is obviously very good at what he does. To some, it may not be impressive in the videos, but I doubt a person could be competitive without practice. As he advances through classes, the videos will be anything but boring. I encourage him to keep up the good work and keep flat track racing alive. Bye the way, St. Louis SX this weekend was awesome!!! I hope some day my boy gets cheered like Pastrana, Reed or Stewart got!!! I got chills when the crowd roared for 199.

I agree that what hes doing is awesome and I think its really great! Everyone has their own thing that they are into.. my son (6) raced motocross AMP group... and thats a big thing for us.. hes been racing since he was 3 so I know what its like to be a proud dad..
I was just curious on the setup or if you guys do any other sort of riding.. how does he do on the trail rides or tracks? does he go all out on that as well?

I think the setup of Cade's bike is nice. I just can't get used to those little tires. Man are those things small. He is definitely rippin' it up and those kids are riding at a nice clip

tough to get mx vids other than a peice of track at a time or ect. do to our tracks being very long and twisted here in kansas plus a lot of elevation changes. most of our tracks ar mx, if they were supercross would be easier. we do flat track on 3/8 mile. but the little guys dont

I'm pretty sure you saw that vid I posted of Jam a couple months ago riding the whooped out no jump track. His MX races are at night and it's really tough to get nice vids unless they're running right past you. He races this weekend and I'll take the cam out to see if I can get anything worthwhile.
Man! Lil Cade is a boy of many talents. That's a nice lil kart he has there. Which does he like better that kart or the quad? Where's the kart vids?
