Polaris Express 300 oil pump?

Working on a buddies 1995 Express. Needed a top end, but I dont know if the oil pump is working right. Does anyone know how to check these? I have mixed gas in it for the break in, but have no idea if the pump works correctly. When I ran the starter and held the throttle wide open, it did push some oil out the line, but very little. I just need help with how much it is supposed to push out, or how to check it.
