Modifying 07 Big Bear 4x4? Help?

Just picked up an 07 Big Bear 4x4 w 29 miles for an amazing price. We all know it's geared very low and the top speed is not very high, but I want to work on the acceleration getting to the top speed. Can anyone suggest parts and where to find them? It came with an HMF slip-on. Thanks,
