Occasionally while riding our 2002 scrammy 90 seems to bog or act like its running out of fuel then it runs fine again. Any suggestions? usually happens when riding a long straight flat stretch and fuel filter was just changed not long ago.

Have you taken the carb completely apart and cleaned the jets and passages?

I just did that today, it did not look bad . it only does it occasionally,I probably should have pulled the tank and cleaned the petcock as well but did not think of it until I had re-trailered and garaged it.

Could be some junk floating around in the tank, lines, bowl, etc. Is the spark plug boot tight?

Did not check that .but I will now. Thanks.

You find the problem?

Sorry I should have posted the fix. replaced spark plug and made sure boot was tight,I cleaned the carb and we went riding, well it would run for about 2 minutes(about the time it took the filter to fill and then drain the fuel) then act like it was getting no fuel so while everyone else rode I took out the fuel filter and it still did the same thing so I had some extra fuel line and replaced the line from tank to carb and problem was fixed,I think the line had a kink and was restricting the flow.

how does your scrambler 90 handle on trails? does it run straight? seems like everytime my daughter is riding hers her quads jumps around the trail alot.. you have that same problem?
Posted by: ned02
It does tend to bounce alot, though it does alright and has the power to make most hills,I have wheel extenders on all 4 and I just changed to hopefully better front shocks and bigger wheels and tires on the front so I am hoping this will make things a little smoother.

We haven't had problems with bump steer. I would think the aarms and ride height would also have an affect on it. We're running DC +3 aarms.
