here are the specs: 8'2" tall 21 feet long 6 feet wide, 39 degree final angle, 33 foot radius , and its gonna be a trailer ramp......

dave opted to come up here and do the cut and weld method with me after getting screwed twice trying to get his rails rolled for the curve.

these are from yesterday,

we built the hinges out of 3/4" hot rolled stock, 3/4" schedule 40 tubing and some plate.

I cut it apart where it folds, dave is welding on one of the joists.

and here is what she looks like hinges mounted and all, the axle is pretty close to where itll be when i get finished designing the fold down frame it goes on. and we'll get to that next time.

next weekends agenda is to hinge the axle/frame assembly, mount the electric winch that lowers it, build the trailer tounge and install the hitch coupler, then line the axle up and weld the tabs to the frame assembly it hinges on........

after that its just needs some lights, a battery and battery box to hold the battery and winch leads and bolts and tools, its needs a couple more braces and then itll be road worthy for dave to take home and finish himself (install the remaining joists and then the surface) and then we get to ride this beast....cant wait

well after a long clip of oddly crappy weather and our schedules not working out me and dave finally got some more work done to the ramp.......

it won tbe too much longer now till dave is able to pull it home and he'll be able to knock out the remaining joist and the surface himself. Next time he comes up we'll finish out the tounge, we got to sleeve our mount holes and install the alignment tabs for the axle frame work, get our spring mounts completely welded in and mount the winch, then itll be a matter of getting lights and tags on it and the battery/storage box install and all wired up.

i think dave said he was gonna have like $1500 in the ramp when all said and done...im not sure

the axle is mounted and swinging perfectly, the tounge is scabbed and finished, we needed some hardware to mount the winch and to go from the axle frame work to the ramp frame. its getting closer and closer.
