Hello I am restoring a dead 400 Xplorer and it runs pretty good after rebuilding the carb, but when I move the shift lever to reverse it sputters and dies. If I try to shift it into reverse and hit the gas it just bogs right down and dies.

Could the CDI be screwed up or is there something obvious I am missing? Thanks

are you using the reverse over ride button?

Where is it located? I have never ridden this quad so I am not familiar with it. Thanks for the response

it should be on the left handle bar a yellow button

when in reverse hold it down and then press the throttle

its a safety feature by polaris to keep the rpm down so you dont fly backwards

it can also be easily bypassed by unhooking the correct wire(s), another note is that the 4x4 will not work in reverse without this button pressed

It was the override button, thanks for the help
