i am wanting to know if anybody has taken a 2wd honda rancher and converted it to 4wd? i see that all the tabs are there for the front differential and the front hubs are splined, so i dont think it would be to hard to do
if anybody knows of someome who has done this please let me know Thanks

I have been researching this very thing. The best that I can come up with is that everything would be a simple bolt in except for the output shaft on the front of the motor/tranny where the front drive shaft would connect. I have no idea of what that would entail or if our thoughts on the hubs are correct that a cv shaft would go directly in them or if they would have to be traded out. My guess is that they are all the same.
Let me know what you find because I very interested to know.
My plan is that if it can be done then I will start collecting the parts over the next several months. I plan on using the Warn 424 unlock kit for my front driveshaft so that I can disengage the 4 wheel drive when I do not need it.

Just sell your 2wd Rancher and buy a new one with 4wd and all the other goodies...
