FINALLY got my XX!

Well I guess I really shouldn't say "finally". I walked in the dealership last night at about 4. Yeah, i had been to other dealerships, trying to find a red Kawasaki kfx450r. Not one place in Dallas/Fort Worth had one. So I go to my local dealership (DFWHonda) which is right down the street from my house and i've been there a few times recently just to see what they have. They've had an 08' Demo'd XX for at least the last 3 weeks. I find out they're asking $6499 for it. They said it had been ridden approximately twice. But from the looks of it, my 87' Honda TRX250 Fourtrax looked to be in better shape.

I had really had my mind set on a 450r, the 08' with the flames... and some how once I started talking to the guys up there about what I enjoyed doing when I ride... riding on trails or making my own, he said I should really consider the 700xx.

Longstory short, I got a brand spankin' new 700xx for $500 more than their demo'd scratched up one. I really like a clean quad, I'm sure its a great one, just to many scratches for me for that amount of money.

So I called my roommate to tell him to bring the truck up to the dealership (he has a YFZ450) that I bought a couple of quads (also picked up a TRX250EX for the girlfriend), and he mentioned that he was going riding the next morning. So I IMMEDIATELY was going to get ride the new quad. I was excited.

Got through some break in stuff and then it was time to have fun! Its pretty clear to see the "new in the garage" pics vs. the pics after riding today... I think. If not, i'll gladly make it more obvious.

My first impressions...

I thought it was going to roll when the first turn came up. Once I got used to the IRS, it was a total different quad compared to my buddy's YFZ450. We did some drag racing with a Predator 525 and even though I wasn't as fast, (this is my first quad with a manual clutch and all) I had a blast. Filter, Power Commander, pipe and maybe a sprocket are coming VERY soon to this XX. It's so bad it should have been "XXX". I loved every second of it. VERY happy with my purchase. I'll shut up now if you've read all this and here are the pics from last night and today.

I'm in the Dallas Fort Worth area. If anyone ever wants to go ride, just shoot me a PM.

This was actually on a buddy's home development. The land belongs to the HOA, and they've made trails and even a mx track in the back. LOTS of people in the housing community have quads and ride out there, not huuuuuge but fun for a couple hours and and only about 45 mins from my house. This is out off 380, east of denton.

But, there is rocky ridge, red river motorcycle par, and then i have land in oklahoma and missouri to go on as well.

Sure did. I think if they came this way from Honda, they'd sell better. Paint held up pretty well on the trails and in the sand too, I got some scratches and if they were powdercoated I think I still would have.

yeah, literally at lake ozark, our property goes down to the lake, right by the newer bridge.

we've got about 5 acres i guess i'm going to go play on tomorrow. See how long i can make noise before the cops are called, not sure the cops could get to it though.

Trying to talk my dad into buying about 2500 acres between the lake and joplin somewhere and opening a quad/dirt bike park. We'll see what happens.

that lake is huge tho you should come up north
